Detectives also want to speak with witness who intervened on girl's behalf Fayette sheriff’s detectives are asking the public to be on the lookout for a black man who attempted to abduct a young girl in the Landmark mobile home community Wednesday, Feb. 17. The man, depicted in this police sketch, approached the girl from behind as she was walking home and asked her to help him find his dog, detectives said. The girl said no and began running toward her home on Greenview Boulevard, detectives said. The suspect then grabbed the girl’s hood, knocking her to the ground before a witness shouted at the man to leave the girl alone, detectives said. The man then ran south toward Greenview Circle, officials said. The girl did not know the assailant and detectives have been able to rule out acquaintances of the family, said Inv. Brent Rowan. In addition to the suspect, detectives also want to speak with the witness, who was described as a Hispanic male in a white van with red lettering, who left the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call sheriff’s detective Josh Shelton at 770-716-4777. login to post comments |
