Interesting bit of history

I imagine Bonk$ may be one of the characters milling around in the street.

Historian David Kiehn with the
Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum
has been able to re-determine that
this film was shot about 4 days
before the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.

Just about everything we are
seeing was leveled. The only reason
the film survived is that it was on
a train headed for New York for processing.

But, what's also amazing is seeing
the street traffic...the cars, the
people, the horses,... and what was
considered normal traffic flow during
just another day in that city...in 1906

It was a neat piece of video to watch as the train headed down market street. I see that the rules of the road haven't changed much, people still trying to outrun trains and cut in front of them
