1/29/10-"Let me say this about ... the health care debate, because I think it also bears on a whole lot of other issues. If you look at the package that we've presented -- and there's some stray cats and dogs that got in there that we were eliminating, we were in the process of eliminating. For example, we said from the start that it was going to be important for us to be consistent in saying to people if you can have your -- if you want to keep the health insurance you got, you can keep it, that you're not going to have anybody getting in between you and your doctor in your decision making.
And I think that some of the provisions that got snuck in might have violated that pledge." --Barack Obama at the GOP retreat in Baltimore

Get the picture?

He said it right here.. “it was going to be important for us to be consistent in saying to people if you can have your -- if you want to keep the health insurance you got, you can keep it, that you're not going to have anybody getting in between you and your doctor in your decision making...

He knew that he had to keep “saying” it because otherwise he knew it would stand no chance of passing.. However NOW THE TRUTH finally comes out..

I guess it is sort of like that “NO EARMARKS” and “NO LOBBYEST” promise he made..

Like the promise to double our exports to pay for his budget.. All the while China is saying they are cutting back… ON IMPORTS..

Just another cruel joke played on the Middle Class of America.

I don't think this singing text thing is for you. You are much better at denying global warming.

I can see how a good solid democrat (liberal?) could be conflicted on this one. It has gotten warmer whether through natural variation or man-caused emmissions. The draconian steps to stop CO2 from humans will disproportionately affect the poor. Higher energy prices, high food prices. Where would your loyalties lay?

I do not believe that mankind is responsible for the earth getting warmer, a contributor probably, but not the main cause. There are other reasons to control the output of CO2, the main one being that there are other pollutants produced at the same time, especially from that filthy coal. My main concern has always been pollution, which disproportionately affects the poor even more than higher prices. My loyalties will always lie with a clean as possible earth.

With all the news exposing the false science propping up your global warming theory and this horrendously cold winter we've got on record, I'd change my story too.

It's okay to admit when you are wrong Carbon. Even ole Git confesses to once supporting Mitch Seabaugh, Jack Smith, and Lyn Westmoreland.

I never said I was a supporter of the theory of man made global warming. I was, and still am, highly critical of those who insist that the earth's climate is not getting warmer in order to discredit the whole issue, and to take the focus away from controlling pollution. This cold winter may be a result of all of the soot (no relation to me) that is in the air, blocking the sunlight as it passes through the most atmosphere of the year. Shucks, I don't mind admitting when I am wrong, like when I said that SUVs would make good storage units on rural properties, because they don't have much storage area in relation to all the volume that they take up, and that is not good.

Gee Carbon. I don't recall critics of the global warming hoax denying the earth hasn't warmed a tad bit in recent years. I just recall them exposing the junk science of the evironmentally religious left and their misuse of of this issue to regulate our lives in various ways. Now my question is: Did it ever occur to you that the earth's slight warming was perhaps a natural cyclic event? Kinda sorta like droughts, floods, cold winters and mild winters? Puzzled

BTW... your-anus comeback was priceless.

And as for me and my family..... we're loving our our SUV's. And trust me. As one who has first hand experience with farms and ranches.... SUV's are better suited for hauling people and goods around over junking up prize farm land. I don't want my farm looking like some North Alabama white trash junkyard.

I admitted that I was mistaken, what more does you want? I have firsthand experience with junking up prize farm land, in PA, by my father, one of the premierest junker uppers that ever was. He would have loved SUVs, and Jordan's Sales & Salvage. Myself, I am highly allergic to junk.

Back to the story at hand, there is plenty of junk science on both sides of the global warming debate. And yes, lots of things occur to me, student of the solar system that I am: natural warming on Earth being natural, years long dust storms on Mars being mighty dusty, things of that nature.

Astronomers say Pluto's surface is changing more than the surfaces of other bodies in the solar system. That's unexpected because a season lasts 120 years in some regions of Pluto.

"It's a little bit of a surprise to see these changes happening so big and so fast," said astronomer Marc Buie of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colo. "This is unprecedented."
