Lawmakers Take Issue With Obama's Las Vegas Remark

Nevada lawmakers are taking umbrage at President Barack Obama's reference to Las Vegas when explaining how the country needs to make some tough choices on spending.

The Nevada economy has been among the hardest hit over the past two years, and officials are sensitive to remarks that could discourage spending there.

In remarks at a town hall event Tuesday, Obama said that when times are tough, people tighten their belts and don't blow a bunch of cash in Las Vegas when trying to save up for college.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, says Obama needs to lay off Las Vegas and, as he put it, "stop making it the poster child for where people shouldn't be spending their money."

This "president" has the audacity to lecture others about tightening their belts when he wastes taxpayer dollars on his cockamamie, radical, elitest, socialist schemes?

Obama doesn't have a clue. He's no leader, and a miserable waste of oxygen.

But you, Joe, with your award-winning body of work, are a bold and fresh breath of air and the country is better for having your body of work in it.

Talk about a one-trick pony!

Joe? I see a trend. I believe Obama is the best thing to happen to you. Think of all of the free time you would have if not for him?

That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the latest statement from our debtor in chief.

He has demonstrated an unbelievable dedication to fiscal stupidity. He is building up an enormous debt that the LEGAL American citizens are going to have to pay eventually. He spends money like a spoiled little rich kid with a drinking and drug problem who knows that his daddy will clean up the mess. Like the spoiled little drunk rich kid he knows he will not be held accountable or face any consequences for his huge mess.
Our debtor in chief needs to follow his own advice and stop throwing away OUR money.

Is there anything inaccurate with the following statement?

"when times are tough, people tighten their belts and don't blow a bunch of cash in Las Vegas when trying to save up for college."

I guess I'm missing your point. If the President said, "If you have respiratory distress, you should not smoke," would he be wrong?

says that it is better to save money for college rather than go gambling and {{Deleted for content}}, that is a bad thing? Sounds like sound advice to me.

When he presents a budget that sets RECORDS for spending and deficits.

AND has in the budget things like Healthcare "Savings" (which have not even been proved)and Cap and Trade WHICH has not been passed yet.. Well some of us have got to wonder where his head is at..

You know that old saying.. "Counting your chickens before they hatch".. Well Obama is counting the Hen that hasn't even laid the Chickens that he has already counted...
