2008 is old news!

Considering what has happened to many--mostly--people of color in Haiti, it seems paranoid, petty, and pathetic to bring this up NOW! And yes we can discuss race in this country. If you feel that you can't discuss race, then perhaps you should examine the motivations for your baseless belief. The pure of heart have no problem discussing race. Many discussions of race occur daily in mixed-race settings where we celebrate our common humanity, accept our differences, and try to get past the past; we're not over it all, but we want the hate to abate. Regardless of what happened in 2008, continuing to foment racial tension does nothing to bring progress or diminish division.

You could call it pathetic, paranoid, RIDICULOUS, but I am not quite sure what you are complaining about with this diatribe! What has 2008 have to do with this huge tragedy!?!

I see people in true need of help. The color of their skin maters not. I will stop by Kroger and make that donation.

Commendable Cy and I would never tell anyone what to do with their money but I will tell you I will never donate one dollar to anything sponsored by the UN--an organization that is truly anti-American.

the occasion. I'm amazed, but not surprised, at the generosity of the American public during this terrible disaster in Haiti.

The words are synonyms, in fact. So can you really be one and not the other at the same time?

I was not 'surprised' - but amazed (in wonderment) of the immediate response and generosity. Now if they can just get the roads cleared so that the people can be recipients of this generosity. Having experienced a 6.?? earthquake - and the aftershocks, the fear must be overwhelming. Prayers continue - I hope you add your concern/prayers to the concerns/prayers of many American citizens.

–adjective
