Interesting bit of history

Historical Footage: Japanese Surrender Signing Aboard Battleship Missouri Sunday Sept. 2, 1945.

An very important piece of history. Most people have seen still photos of the event but have not seen the newsreel of it.

A film of the actual ceremony of the Japanese signing their surrender ending the second world war. General Douglas MacArthur was the supreme commander of our armed forces in charge of the signing ceremony.

Since this happened on Sun., Sept 2 I guess the next day was Labor Day and I started 1st grade the day after. Turned 6 a few days later. So, I don't remember this at all. I imagine the WWI vet blogger does.

I think they pulled the plug on that link. If its the one that's been going around on the "old men network" it probably got "hit" too many times.

Well you nailed the source. Oddly enough I was able to connect on my second try, but that has been it. Just tried again with no luck.
