The Future of America’s Healthcare

The Mayo organization had 3,700 staff physicians and scientists and treated 526,000 patients in 2008. It lost $840 million last year on Medicare, the government’s health program for the disabled and those 65 and older, Mayo spokeswoman Lynn Closway said.

Nationwide, doctors made about 20 percent less for treating Medicare patients than they did caring for privately insured patients in 2007, a payment gap that has remained stable during the last decade, according to a March Report by the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, a panel that advises Congress on Medicare issues. Congress last week postponed for two months a 21.5 percent cut in Medicare reimbursements for doctors.

Is rationing in our future?

Could a “Panel” of Government Bureaucrats decide rather or not your Healthcare is worth paying for?

Maybe..

“As the U.S. Senate continues working to craft a filibuster-proof healthcare reform bill, a new USA Today/Gallup poll finds public support for such efforts still below the majority level. Forty-six percent of Americans say they would advise their member of Congress to vote for healthcare legislation (or lean toward doing so), while 48% would advise a no vote (or lean in that direction).”

Political independents are more inclined to oppose (49%) than to favor (44%) a new healthcare bill and that number is increasing.

Without the Independents Obama would not be President. Losing this group does not spell success in the November elections.

Americans generally favor some type of reform. But we favor real true reform.

Give us real competition..
Let us shop our insurance across State lines..

Assistance for those that need Cobra.

Let us KEEP HSPs (Health Savings Plans) instead of forcing us to lose them.

Force Doctor’s to create a “price” list for services so WE can decide who to pay.

There are real solutions out there that will help those that need it and cut cost..

But this current monster is not it..

of not raising taxes on those making less than $250K can be viewed here.

Now will he compromise that promise in order to get health care to pass?

Some news agencies are leaking out reports that the Senate plan will prevail including taxes on certain company provided health insurance plans AKA "Cadillac insurance plans".

Something to think about.

When a politician is talking, they are LYING!

It's a shame but politicians are all the same, no matter which party they belong too.

When he made that statement he was lying or naive as hell.

Some would say both.
