Not Chief's job!

Chief Murray says that he is willing to meet with a small group of restaurant owners to review and discuss possible changes to the ordinance in question. He job is law enforcement. He does not have legislative power and the new mayor and council need to make him aware of that. He is power run amuck.

It is astounding to me that the chief (Bush) did not know about the UAR being approved to own and run many of our major ocean ports! Were all of the White House execs also in the blind? What else have we sold? We were kicked out of Saudi Arabia after Gulf 1, and we moved our planes, etc. to UAR. Now we are veing blackmailed out of there. WOW!

Since when have all of our laws always been enforced for everybody? Why Vice-Presidents of the USA can shoot someone, and no one involved reports it until the next day late---plenty of time to sober up, even if the local gendarmes ever intended to take any blood tests or release any Secret Service reports. Guns can be left in golf carts, it is ok. Certain cops can be particularily irritating unnecessarily, it is ok. I once knew a judge who got picked up by the town cops every Friday night and taken home drunk. His car was brought along by a second cop. He sent people to jail the next week for drunken driving. There is no end to this sort of thing. Forget it.

At least VP Cheney addressed the public about this accidental incident. Chief Murray never talked publicly (as far as I know) about the time he shot and killed a man.

In my opinion, the only thing that your exposing is your narrow-mindedness and your apparent delusional disorders. I sympathize with your family and I hope that you are never on the receiving end of a violent crime. Even more, I pray that a police officer is never injured because of you or even worse, has to put his/her life on the line for a person such as you. You obviously take your safety and freedom for granted and think it is something owed to you. Regarding your comments about Chief Murray, he paid a debt to society that he did not owe. If you come down from your cloud, you would know that. You should also realize that law enforcement officers, even in Peachtree City, put their lives on the line everyday and, in spite of what you say or think, most of us appreciate them. I’m amazed that you want the Chief of Police to publicly address an issue such as this, especially twenty years later. You are obviously a sick morbid freak. If you really want the truth, Chief Murray received a Medal of Valor for taking an action that saved lives.

If I could point out to some..It is not necessary to respond to every nut case that makes a post that is not germane to the subject. I am sure there is an interesting story here but it had nothing to do with the original post. No one took the bait for 2 days until you felt compelled to post, now Enquiring Minds (sic) will want to know. I can even write the story. Bad guy (maybe not real bad but only his mother knows) has gun. Police officer with gun crosses path with same. Both feel threatened. Cop is quicker / better shot. End of story. This thread started with a story about alcohol permits. Went thru a hapless V-P that can’t shoot straight and here we are. Ever hear of let sleeping dogs lie or was that babies?

No, ptcexposed, this is the chief's job. He's a staff member of the city on a fact finding mission and will advise the lawmakers how to vote. Who else is going to go out there and get facts? Bernie? Colin?
