I am reminded of the old keystone cops of 1920s Hollywood fame every time we have a crime occur that seems to warrant the media's attention for days!

An African dude sets his lap afire instead of blowing a hole in the plane and what do we do? Suddenly there are hundreds more "marshalls" assigned to "all" flights into and out of the USA; also, since the dude used a blanket to cover his lap and work on the bomb, now no one can have anything on their lap for one whole hour before landing--I suppose since another dude might cover his lap with a blanket and set his crotch on fire!
The stupid computer lists that supposedly the whole world has of the hundreds of thousands of "suspects" about terror it seems is slightly out of date---can you think that? Of course it is.
Even if your daddy calls an Embassy and says his son may be nuts and under the influence of bad dudes---since he is a former bank president it is let go!
However, somehow he was on the list, just not banned from flying, since he said he was in London some time ago attending a school that never existed. (Not the engineering school he graduated from).

And, have you ever noticed here when a bank or store is robbed, 25 or more cop cars show up after the robbery and stay parked around the joint for hours---I suppose in case the robber decides to come back to the same place and see if the till is full again!

I don't mind the fire trucks, cops and ambulances blaring their honkers every time they go to a fender bender, but I already know they are on duty! At intersections only would suffice at 2:00 AM.

I also know that trains go through Peachtree City since I can hear and feel the rumble for miles. The constant hooting of the false steam horn from Tyrone to the next town could be abated it seems.
I'd rather pay a cop to do traffic at each naked crossing---running from one to the other, than hear that stuff all night. Funny I never hear them in the daytime.

Now, back to Nigerian dudes working out of Yemen: Aren't they nearly everywhere? There are probably 10-15 of them who want to save Islam in nearly every country in the world! I know that there are probably CIA and other unknown organizations of ours in nearly all of their countries, but all we usually do is overthrow baduns.

As to the drones killing all of the #2s for years, it may add up to be significant in 20-30 years but by that time they will really be ticked off at the aids killed with them.

Noticed in today's news that lines were 2-3 hours long at airports what with removing stinky shoes, blowing air up women's dresses, and really patting all down hard. Nothing was moving much. Opening up all of those carry-ons must reveal some strange stuff!

Now, under all these circumstances you could be right---they may not send another guy tomorrow with a lap blanket similar to a Scotsman's Kilt with powder and juice sealed into his wig.
They may even blow up a lot more vehicles with roadside bombs instead.

Sometimes flight attendants have to cover-up couples that have an extreme need to show their affection to one and another. For some reason, this happens on flights going to Las Vegas.

The one serious and thoughtful thing posted here is the idea that the airplane stuff is a diversion or distraction and the real attack will come elsewhere - suitcase nuke in a crowded city, for example.

Think about it, even if the Detroit bomb went off while the plane was landing, the damage would mainly be the lives of those aboard. Bad, but not the huge impact these Al-Quida goons are after.

I think they are probing, testing and diverting and we are responding the way they want, by doing everything to provide superficial security instead of real security. If Frank Church and Jimmy Carter had not destroyed the human intelligence gathering capabilities of our country, we would have had people on the inside and destroyed these vermin by now.
