I implore you folks. Librul or Conservative.... ponder a trillion dollars and try to wrap your minds around the waste and mismanagement of our government and it's leaders. How shameless.

Please try to grasp the realization that the return on investment we are getting out our government is scandalous at best.

What in God's name is happening to our country?

David's Mom and Bonky need not respond. We already know your answer....it's all George's fault.

It's not done that way anyway. Nobody carries it around.
It is done these day primarily by electronic transfer---at least everything maybe except getting a coke out of a machine!

Taxes haven't paid for its issuance since before Reagan!
It has been done by credit at a low interest rate (2-3%).

Roosevelt sold savings bonds mostly to finance WW2. I owned some of them.

What little taxes you pay sir is used for government workers, and the military. No one wants to finance that!

One trillion doesn't impress me as a stack

Of course not Bonker$. You are an OPiuM addict. Since when has pissing away OPiuM ever been a concern of yours? Unless there is a remote possibility you can pin it on Cheney and then you get all... let just say.... aroused. Shocked

OPiuM = Other People's Money

Tax Cuts Might Accomplish What Spending Hasn’t

From the New York Times -----

"My Harvard colleagues Alberto Alesina and Silvia Ardagna have recently conducted a comprehensive analysis of the issue. In an October study, they looked at large changes in fiscal policy in 21 nations in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. They identified 91 episodes since 1970 in which policy moved to stimulate the economy. They then compared the policy interventions that succeeded — that is, those that were actually followed by robust growth — with those that failed.

The results are striking. Successful stimulus relies almost entirely on cuts in business and income taxes. Failed stimulus relies mostly on increases in government spending."

It's Economics 101. Too bad the Community Organizer in Chief never had any practical experience that he can relate to. All that he seems to know how to do is spend money that we don't have...

It's OUR fault for allowing this to happen by not being more involved for the past 8 years. No country should ever have to face this type of mess - certainly not a country that is considered a 'world' leader! We have the freedom and 'right' to be involved - and yet on the average only 33% of our citizens VOTE!!. The enemy is not George or Barak or Fidel or ?????. Look in the mirror - it's US!

Across this country there is a seething animosity brewing among otherwise peaceful people toward the irresponsible and destructive leadership we are experiencing in this country. It seems we are being led by a myriad of third world government tyrants rivaling those of Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, and other despot leaders from around the world. Bush was bad enough I admit. But for the life of me I cannot see how his poor leadership in any way justifies what is being forced upon us now. The cure is proving to be far more fatal than the disease we were originally battling.

(Hey...how was that? Was that a perty good Bonker$ imitation or what?) Eye-wink
