Sandy Creek Patriots to play for 4-A title in Dome

Sports Editor Michael Boylan reports Sandy Creek beat the Griffin Bears Friday night 22 to 15 in Griffin.

The Patriots now move on to the title game at the Georgia Dome next week.

Sandy Creek was initially set to host the game but The Battlefield fell short of the required number of seats to host a semifinal game as deemed by the Georgia High School Association.

A four-plus hour bus ride didn't bother the Patriots last week as they stunned favorite Thomas County Central with a 31-17 win.
