A traffic accident Sunday has knocked out Peachtree City's newest traffic signal on Ga. Highway 74 north at Wisdom Road.

Though no one was seriously injured in the crash, it knocked over the control box for the traffic signal, which caused the light to malfunction.

It is not immediately known how long it might be before the light will be repaired.

Maybe this light wasn't such a good idea. I don't remember there being a lot of accidents at this intersection before they built this light and I think this is the forth accident since they began construction.

Someone was aiming for that box.

There are temporary stop signs in place, so this intersection should be treated like a four way stop until the light is restored.

I know I shouldn't respond without knowing the facts but I know what I see every day is people driving like animals around PTC. Like I said before....either lower the speed limits or enforce the limits in place.

At that location, I am pretty sure that the speed limit is 55 mph. I will check that tomorrow as I drive to work. I do not routinely see people speed on highway 74 north of 54. I drive it two to four times a day during normal rush hours. I do not view the speeds that I normally see there as animalistic driving
