David Ring, who wears many volunteer hats working with recreation programs in Peachtree City, was recently named Volunteer of the Year for the population category of 30,000 to 80,000 by the Georgia Park and Recreation Association at their annual conference in Jekyll Island.

Ring is chairman of the Peachtree City Recreation Commission, member of the city’s Tourism Association and has been a Little League volunteer for over a decade.

The award cited Ring for his extensive work, including achievements that have led to improvements and advancements in leisure services in Peachtree City.

“The staff recognizes the value of the input Dave provides as he has not only worked or served in almost every position in Little League, the Recreation Commission and the Tourism Association, but he has an educational background and work experience in recreation,” said Recreation Administrator Sherry McHugh. “So, he knows his stuff and we really appreciate his help over the years.”

Three cheers to Mr. David Ring being named Volunteer of the Year by the Georgia Park and Recreation Association. Mr. Ring has served on the PTC Recreation Commission since I believe 2001. He has carefully guided the direction of recreation activities within the city for all to enjoy and made sure all children, and adults, have had the best opportunity to engage in nearly any sport they desire. He is stepping down as Rec Commissioner with his last meeting to be held on December 14th, 6:30PM at the Gathering Place. I will be there to personally thank him. Eric Imker
