This is an example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail

S. Lindsey's picture

"Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years."

Like I said before it's not about Health or CARE.. It is about CONTROL.. Control over all of us..

If we allow them to let this stand then the next Freedom you will lose might be a bit more important to you.

We don't have any 'freedom' now! The insurance companies have a monopoly! Insurance is paying the big bucks to make sure it stays that way.

Answer this Lindsey,

if the government option is going to be ...soooo exspensive and bad..why are the insurance companies so ..AFRAID.. of it?

They have repeatedly said it would be unfair competition for them.
Why do private insurers fear a government-run program?

Maybe it is because they have done such a sorry job that they feel the government, that can’t do anything right, would show their sorry a@@@es up!

In a word SF.. "Competition" or really the lack thereof..

You see I am going to explain a truthism - 1 definition - 1."Telling something like it is", often to the dismay of the conventional folk..

The Government in and of itself cannot compete..

What is competition? com•pe•ti•tion (k m p-t sh n) n. 1. The act of competing, as for profit or a prize;

You see SF the Government does not have to make a profit.. That there is a truthism.. They have us to soak.. Businesses cannot COMPETE with another that does not need to make a profit..

The Government also has the regulatory body in place to set the rules.. So they not only tell you what the game is they can rig it so only they score..

So SF the misnomer of "Competition" in the "Public Option" is dishonest at best.. There can be only one to quote a line from the Highlander.. and it sure will not be the "Competitors" to the Government.

Hope this answers your question.. Now answer one for me.. HOW DO WE PAY FOR IT?

Insurance companies were begged forever to supply health care to everyone at a cost everyone could afford. They did not. I'm not interested in why they didn't---they didn't.

If they wish to continue selling more expensive policies than they currently do for those who don't want government insurance---then let them.

Taxpayers have also been subsidizing insurance companies, hospital, and doctors as to whatever they needed. It grew to pay like Banks with that! (did you see the three top banks giving 30 billion dollars out in bonuses today?)

The time has come. The majority have spoken.

"The time has come. The majority have spoken."

Must have missed that one.. The last Rasmussen poll showed Americans liked there Healthcare and was against the Public option..

Do you have different polling data?

btw... It's a free market system for a reason.. Private entities can sell what they have at market profits.. If they fail to provide a quality product then the market will determine if an entity will survive.

It's not the insurance companies that will not allow competition across State lines.. That's the Government for ya... The Insurance companies would love to be able to compete across state lines..

Why are the insurance companies afraid, well lets see, maybe because the gov gets to make the rules, with no input from the insurance companies, and once the competition has begun, the gov gets to change the rules as the gov sees fit. Now later when the gov has driven the ins. companies out of health care what will they decide to legislate next, maybe they will decide to make you adhere to a weight and height chart that you just can't seem to make fit. Too many kids being born? Well, ask China how that was fixed. When the courts decided to let the cops have road blocks,(the cops you seem to have such a hard time with) just in case you might have some kind of contraband in your car I said it was a bad idea, but other people said "well if you don't have anything in your car you have nothing to worry about". My reply to that was what happens when the cops decide they need to check your house "just in case". When we let the Gov decide what is best for us, without any input from us, you start the long decline. Also if you're still working I hope its for a large company, because this bill is going to put a lot of people who work for small companies out of work, so they can pay for everyone's health care. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

That's all you got in reply? Well that certainly refutes everything I said, way to discuss, if there's anyone here who is brainwashed it's you. I hope this won't make you have another tantrum and go away mad. Show me where I'm wrong if you can.
