Hawk 1

What has happened to Hawk 1?

Is Hawk 2 still in the shed?

How many certified pilots does the sheriff have for them?

How much does the maintenance and insurance cost for them?

Is there a report somewhere for the public listing such things for review?

Is it really necessary and used or is it a status and threat deterrent?

Like PTC do the deputies and some office personnel have their own cars to take home? Who drives all of those fleets of vehicles in the county offices parking lots--seem to sit there most of the time.

In a recession can we do all this?

I believe that Hawk 1 is still being used on a daily basis for surveillance and in the apprehension of criminals. Hawk 2 is a helicopter that is used for spare parts. Both helicopters were paid for using drug seized money that isn't available to any other projects other than public safety. I see the helicopter flying over problem areas frequently and I like knowing that they are ready to respond and assist units on the ground. Bonkers, if you are looking to save some money and "pinch" penny's you should try diving into some of the fountains at shopping malls and local fountains. You should also be willing to post where you work at so all of the local public safety can come by your job and complain about the way your job spends money!
