Peachtree City police are investigating several reports of thieves stealing purses from automobiles throughout the city today.

Most of the incidents have occurred in the Kedron area, and police are asking residents to report any suspicious activity immediately to 770-461-4357, which is the Fayette County Communications Center.

Residents who see any suspicious activity should not approach the suspects but should note the physical description and tag numbers of vehicles, police said.

Meanwhile, residents are reminded to lock their car doors, remove all valuables from view and don't leave purses and money inside vehicles.

Anyone with information that would assist the Police Department in these or other incidents is asked to contact the Peachtree City Criminal Investigations Division at 770-631-2510 or the Crime and Narcotics Information Hotline, (770) 487-6010. Callers may remain anonymous.

Get a storage unit if you have to but clean out your garage so you can park your cars in it...day and night. This problem is going to get worse before it gets better and it's the only solution that works 99% of the time.

My golf cart was stolen in the 54/74 area. It was found wrecked and ruined in the Kedron area near Pinegate. I was told by neighborhood teenagers that someone called "Lil Rick" who lives in the Glenloch area is the one who took it.

Will you come on already? Put your purses, laptops, phones, jewelry, and all that other stuff out of sight and lock the SUV, OKAY??? Our PD has more to do than right up reports of your carelessness to not hit the "lock" button on the remote when you get out of the car!!! It's like you leave a written invitation to the crooks that patrol our city looking for you.

I know there were 3 cars vandalized at St. Paul Lutheran School, and the thieves bashed in the windows to rifle through gym bags. This was not a case of not "hitting the lock button". I don't believe any of these owners left a "written invitation", unless you think that a gym bag projects anything other than stinky socks inside.

and am sorry for the victims. We are in desperate times, people, and leaving anything visible will be an invitation.

If only I had a six foot chain link fence and a moat around the front of my house.

I'm glad I remembered to shut my garage door today Smiling

Good point Lindsey. Maxpedition makes a great line of bags (fanny packs, range bags, sling bags etc.) for CCW. I just purchased a Kodiak Sling bag. Lots of room, and quite handt for my CCW.

These things are great for all recreational use (walking, hiking, biking. PTC golf cart paths).

But, you wont see it sitting in the passenger side of my vehicle, screaming "Please, somebody steal me!"
