22,000,000 people need a job

Many others need a better paying job. (any family under 40,000 per year)

There are those (Boehner, for instance) who say that Obama promised 8% unemployment and it is near 10%, so he failed. Had all of eight months and failed.

There are those who say we should not have bailed out the banks and Insurance and auto companies--but we should have just let them all go broke at once, laid-off nearly everyone, and started over from scratch. No banks, no car companies, no Insurance companies, no stock market, everyone broke except the top 10%.

There are those who say it wasn't Bush's fault but Clinton---at least it was congress's fault.

OK so we "fault" someone. Now what do we do?

I would guess the answer is somewhere in the middle---we will get higher unemployment numbers but maybe not the magical 20%, and maybe 10-12,000,000 of those unemployed will get a good job within the next two years.

I wish that last statement was correct. I fear not.

We got screwed. Not enough gravitas.

Maybe, just maybe we will find another group of benefactors who will loan us another ten trillion and we simply will proceed to go at it again by borrowing.

It's interesting to know what people do with their tax rebates. Some people use them for vacations, others to pay off their credit cards. There is a lot of things that people do with tax rebates – but no one seems interested what people do with payday loans, if they use them. A study by University of Chicago faculty from 2008 found that payday lending declined in people that use payday loans towards bills and assistance declines around the period of tax rebates, but lending to those that used payday loans for discretionary uses didn't. This means that the average person uses their TAX REBATES and payday loans for real reasons, and is taking responsibility for themselves.
