In the final week of the regular season, a week before teams from the two sub-regions meet, the games were not close. Whitewater beat McIntosh 45-10, Starr’s Mill shutout Fayette County 34-0 and Sandy Creek deafeated Northgate 37-3.

Whitewater got two touchdowns and 168 yards from Josh Clemons in the win. Clemons also became the school’s first 1,000 yard rusher in school history. Others with touchdowns for Whitewater were Renaldo Jenkins, Lance White and Robert Boyd. Dylan Johnson added a field goal in the first quarter. Scoring for McIntosh were kicker Michael Mateos and Darius Miliam.

Starr’s Mill got two touchdowns a piece from Justin Smith and Zach Laskey in their win over Fayette County, while Derek Brown added one.

Sandy Creek got touchdowns from Rajion Neal, Devon Hughes and Patrick Alexander in their win. The Patriots will likely meet Banneker next week for the region title. Banneker beat Alexander 51-7, while Villa Rica lost to Tri-Cities.

Great job Wildcats, what a difference it makes having our starting QB back; if we only would have had him a few games ago!
Good luck to the Patriots and Panthers in your playoff run; keep it rolling!

But I thought Quarterbacks played offense...not defense!

Good luck to all the Fayette County teams!

that defense keeps the other team from scoring. WW gave up 89 points in three games.

Could the starting QB have stopped the other teams from scoring?

Here was my point.
I did not count the Sandy Creek game, I had picked that game as our only loss this season, so did many of the sports writers. Therefore, the other four losses we gave up an average of 21 pts and scored 14; other than the Sandy Creek game, our defense has done well. The kids play with a different mindset when the starter is in there, that being said, the sophomore QB did not do bad at all and will be a good one in the years to come. With our starter back, 83 points in two games since his return, 4-1 for a total of 142 pts when he started this season, that’s a 28 avg per game; indeed a valuable piece of the puzzle. Needless to say, those that are advancing deserve to do so; we should have done our work.

Sandy Creek, Congradulations on a great season. But don't buy your tickets to the dome yet. Remember one game at a time.

Starr's Mill, No play-offs yet. Win your play in game first.
