UPDATE: 2 suspects in custody

A man armed with a baseball bat stole an undisclosed amount of cash from another person at a home on Hillside Drive early this morning, sheriff’s detectives said.

Shortly before 5 p.m. detectives had two suspects under arrest.

The perpetrator, whose face was concealed, drove away in the victim’s vehicle, which was later ditched at a convenience store at Ga. Highway 74 and Milam Road, police said.

Witnesses at the store were able to provide a description of the suspect, reported as a bald white man who got into a second vehicle being driven by a black male, according to police radio reports.

Hillside Drive is located off Sandy Creek Road near the intersection of Eastin Road.
Detectives are actively following up leads in the case. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Det. Ethon Harper at 770-716-4763.
