UPDATED STORY

Police suspect no foul play was involved in the death of a man whose body was discovered today in a remote wooded area in south Peachtree City.

But per usual procedure police will conduct an investigation into the death, just as would occur any time a person's body is discovered dead, said police Capt. Rosanna Dove.

The body was found in a wooded area in the city's Wilshire area behind the new Autozone store, police said. The body was not found near any homes, police said.

The body has been identified but police are not releasing the deceased's name until all family members have been notified.

Earlier today a Peachtree City officer was asked to search behind the Autozone on Ga. Highway 74 south near Holly Grove Road with a "be on the lookout" alert for a person, according to police radio traffic. Several detectives later joined the officer at the scene.

It is not known if the body that was found could possibly be the person who was the subject of the reported lookout.

There must have been a story about the body found behind Autozone in PTC Oct 29. Just hate not getting a conclusion to a story.

You sure like stories.

How about the "balloon boy?"
How about the guy in Cleveland with 11 women's bodies in or near his house?

How about Bin Laden?
How many #2s have we killed in Iraq?

Where is George W. Bush?
Where are they dumping TEA right now? Washington?

Why doesn't the republicans want everyone to have health insurance?
Does it cost too much?

Is it possible for someone like Obama to be President?

Whatever happened to the lady who personally drowned about five of her own kids?
How about the one who shot her preacher husband in the back while he slept?

Where is the guy in PTC who beat his wife while kid in his BR?

Is that congressman with the wide stance still serving?
How about the other one who liked pages?

Are there any bank, developer, or other white collar crooks in PTC?
Must be some roofing hoods?

There are gobs more----must be driving you nuts!

"You sure like stories."

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Here is a guy asking what happened with a dead body found in PTC, which never happens. Then the guy who feels compelled to throw in his 2 cents (which it is never worth even that) on every single topic discussed here disses somebody for asking about one topic??? You are Bonkers.

Let me beat you to the punch. I know that was your feeble attempt at satire, again.

If Cyndi killed Don and dumped his body there, that is something the voters of PTC need to know so we don't waste our votes on him (or her).

Of course it could be someone else involved in the election - or not, but we need to know. How about it Rosanna? Give up the name.

Is Steve Brown somehow involved? Is that why you are keeping it quiet?

To the person who posts under the pseudonym 'mudcat'

Your need for attention at the expense of a mother and father whose world just fell apart yesterday is chilling.

Top 5 for sure.

Bonkers. Right?

And I did apologize. Still no ID on the body.

What does Bonkers look like? Anyone know?

Are you saying that I do such things as you?

I look like a human being.
Why is that important to you? Are you a racist?

What if it was a forgetful elderly gentleman who was struck by car? Perhaps the police said "no foul play" because it did appear to be accidental.

Mudcat you are one of the dopiest broads out there. No wonder you are in the circle of folks who got voted out of office.

Mudcat is a man. There's a lot of female references here.

I hope Mudcat is a broad with all that drooling over Dar. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

and I worry about him all the time because he is getting so forgetful.

I reckon some folks have no respect for others as noted in the first response or is it that they think they are funny. Either way, very poor taste in a reply to such an article.

Hope all is well with your father.
My comments were about the political "leaders" we have in PTC.

I think she considers herself our resident wit when in fact she is not even a half-wit; the majority here consider her witless and evidently heartless to boot considering the crassness of her remarks. I hope your father has friends here who can keep an eye on him and make sure he is in contact with them daily. There are senior groups here that he may be interested in if he is not already affiliated with them. I, personally, am not but know people who are. If you need help locating these groups let us know and we will get info to you. Good luck

MYTMITE,

Thank you for the kind reply and offer of support.

There is no way I would ever judge the rest of the posters here because of this one posters tasteless reply to the article. One can always find one bad apple in the basket.

My parents have lived in PTC since 68. One of my boys lives there and another one not too far away. They do "drivebys" for me constantly.

It is a shame that mudcat can not even apologize. Silence says a lot about this persons demeanor.

Once again, a big THANK YOU for your kind words.

My sincere condolences go out to the family who lost their family member.

Mudcat's consistenly vile comments exemplify the very bad and immature side of blogging. For the family of the poor soul who passed, the link of comments to such trivial local politics is childish. It reflects a need to disparage others for one's own self aggrandizement.

Before passing away from Alzheimer related medical issues, my stepfather visited us here in Fayette County. He insisted on going for a walk. This was years ago and his symptoms were not yet that advanced. He did not return for several hours. We were heart stricken. He was lost. He was found by a diligent and kindhearted Sheriff's deputy wandering on the the edge of a swamp. We were fortunate. Perhaps this news story is similar.

Mudcat obviously has little of value to occupy her time with and should find something to do that is a little more constructive.

Someone is dead and you make a joke about?
Really in in poor taste, for god's sake a person is dead!
Maybe you should delete your comment!
What if it is someone local and their family reads your "joke"...
Please have some respect.

early this week or maybe this is just one of her remarks that she considers 'pithy' but in reality are just pissy.

By replying underneath her comment just once, you have made her comment unalterable to her. She cannot change it or delete it. Next time, make a separate reply if you are trying to affect change to someone's post

Even if Mudcat's terrible "joke" can't be taken down, there is this -- By the barrage of criticism that has ensued, I hope that poor family realizes the majority of people sympathize with their loss and would never make such a crass joke at the expense of their loved one.

Mudcat, you should be ashamed.

True that Mudcat cannot edit or remove the crass comments. But she can post an apology. I do not expect that to happen though. Just more smallminded envious insults.

Submitted by MYTMITE on Fri, 10/30/2009 - 3:12pm.

posts something that is especially rude and nasty (even for her). When she feels the backlash has died down she appears again. Let's hope she is not in the position this poor family finds themselves in today. I am sure if she ever was all of us would be kinder than she has been. Maybe someday she will learn it is not funny if it hurts someone. Then again, maybe she will never learn.

To the family, please accept our apolgies for the cruelty and crassness of another blogger. While we cannot control her acts we can tell you how sorry we are for your loss.
