No water from Lanier in 3 years?

Now that the pond is near full are we to forget about droughts?
Where is Sonny's leadership to build a couple more water storages--and soon?
Shouldn't he be floating a bond for that?
Or is he waiting for Washington to build them? Isn't he Republican?

Georgia is about as well-planned a state at least concerning its infra-structure, as is California!

We need to come up with better long term solutions that building a couple of new reservoirs. We better develop the technology and the filtering to have municipalities resuse their treated water. We are doing that in essence when a municpality discharges treated water into a river and then another municipality draws the water out further downstream. We could reclaim a good portion of our water and conserve in that capacity. The biggest problem, as it is in our rivers already, is to filter out all of the drugs that humans have been ingesting and discharging. Antibiotics, birth control hormones are hard to get out of the water.

Since you obviously are inexperienced, you need to think some things through before you suggest them!
Just how many "discharger's of sewage" do you think there are in Georgia? Can they all possibly have the technology to make drinking water from it?
Also, do you want to drink the anti-biotics at every treatment facility (that can't be removed) or is that a fairy tale?

Two points: conservation does not work--people won't do it, and it its not nearly enough if it did work.

Dams can be built rather soon if land is immediately condemned at tax values---de-saliinization, etc., takes much longer.

You are "Punting" just as has Sonny and others.

Read the post again, or have a dollaraday do it. I was not punting. I stated what we need to do long term. It is only going to happen with an investment in technology. Your idea to add a couple of reservoirs will last us 20 years or so with population growth. You will most likely be a moldering and not care, but most municipalities need to come up with plans that have to include complete filtering of water. It isn't conservation at point of use, you friggin dolt, it is at the municipal or state level and mandated for MS4's and POTW's. Look it up if you have no clue
