PTC, Tyrone, SPLOST elections crank up at county elections office It will take a little ride, but Peachtree City and Tyrone voters itching to cast their vote for the Nov. 3 election will be able to do so starting Wednesday. Fayette County’s election office will be set up at 8 a.m. for the advance voting period, and voters will be able to cast ballots for their city election and also for the proposed Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). That service will be available Monday through Friday until Oct. 26 when the early voting period begins in at the libraries in Peachtree City and Tyrone. Also open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., voters will again have the chance to cast ballots on both the city and SPLOST elections. There will be no voting service offered Monday, Nov. 2, and those waiting until the traditional election day Tuesday, Nov. 3 will have to go to their usual polling place, election officials said. At www.fayettecountyga.gov/elections, there is a link on the left side to help voters find their polling location. That link, which goes to the Georgia secretary of state website, also allows absentee voters to check on the status of their application and ballot, including whether they have been received by the county. Those who requested a municipal absentee ballot via mail also will receive an absentee ballot for the SPLOST, but the SPLOST ballot will come in a separate mailing, officials said. login to post comments |
