Fayetteville police today filed criminal charges against an Atlanta man in connection with the Aug. 15 robbery of the Bank of America off Ga. Highway 314 in north Fayetteville.

Michael Ray Baskerville Jr., 33, of Washington Street, Atlanta is currently being held in the Cobb County Jail. He was arrested by police in Cobb Monday during the robbery of a SunTrust bank in Cobb.

Fayetteville detectives were able to link Baskerville to their open case from the Bank of America incident, police said.

The Aug. 15 robbery of the Fayetteville bank consisted of a black male approximately six feet tall entering the Bank of America and standing in line like a normal customer, police said. But once he got to the counter, the suspect handed the teller a note demanding money.

The man was given an undisclosed amount of money and exited the bank. He was last seen walking into a nearby wooded area off New Hope Road .
