PTC candidate forum Tues. night

By: John Munford

This Tuesday night Peachtree City residents can do some one-stop shopping for City Council candidates as all are scheduled to appear at a question-and-answer forum at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center.

The event runs from 6:45 to 9:15 and is sponsored by the Peachtree City Rotary Club.

The forum follows a question-and-answer format, and candidates are typically given the opportunity for opening and closing remarks.

Citizens can submit their own questions for consideration at the event. The questions will be vetted by a three-person panel of Rotarians; only issue-related questions will be accepted for presentation to the candidates.

Voters in November will be considering four of five positions on the City Council as the normal Mayor and two council seats are up for grabs along with an additional council seat due to the resignation of Councilman Don Haddix who had to resign as he qualified to run for mayor.

Candidate Imker, Post #1, respectfully has to miss this event do to a conflict in scheduling. By no means was this intentional. Imker will definitely be at The Gathering Place - Candidate Forum on Sunday, October 18, 3:00 p.m., 203 McIntosh Trail. Should any questions arise at the Rotary Club Imker will answer them in the Citizen letter to the editor. Simply email questions to ReturnToTheVision@gmail.com

Meanwhile, Imker will be hosting Meet the Candidate stops throughout the city from now to election. When you see the golf cart with the Imker sign, please stop and ask any question you want. I will give you the no nonsense answer that I hope you will agree with.

Thank you, Eric Imker

Are we dealing with royalty here, where you use the third person or is Imker so taken with himself? Mytmite thinks this is certainly the wrong way for Imker to endear himself to voters in the area. Mytmite thinks Imker better get in touch with reality-and soon. Mytmite thinks maybe nobody cares what Mytmite thinks but Mytmite just wanted to let Imker know he sounds like---well, Mytmite will just let you decide what Imker sounds like.

This is a bad start for you and for us voters.

A suggestion (respectfully). Talk about yourself in the first person. There is some sort of psychological disconnect when you talk in the third person.

What about the candidate forum on the 14th at McIntosh HS?

More than likely, someone on his staff posted this and automatically signed his name. That's why it's written in third person.

And the phrase is "due to," not "do to."

Male ego. Like Don Imus referring to himself as the I-man and many others. That's why I'm inclined to vote all female this time. 4 ladies, 4 races, no waiting. Hope you are with me goil.
