It was an awesome night for homecoming game for SCHS!
I am so excited that you actually did post something for the Patriots. We are the black sheep of the county. thank you for recognition. continue the good work. sorry to the Fayette tiger fan. I know that you are not used to it. Fayette usually is the hot topic, but behind Whitewater though. Good luck to you all in Fayette co. though

Apparently they didn't play last night...oh wait, yes they did! It looks like they beat Luella 35-34 according to the AJC. But I suppose since they aren't Whitewater, Sandy Creek, McIntosh, Starr's Mill or Landmark, they get no recognition. Thanks Citizen Sports!

Tiger Dad - Congrats on the win in double OT. If you look at the time the article you commented on was posted, you will see it was 10:48 p.m. Friday night. The Fayette County/Luella game was not over or had just gotten over shortly before this was posted. I'm sure your score just hadn't been reported at the time the article was posted.

Thanks(?) for the tip but if YOU will look at the time that I posted my comments you will see that I posted it this afternoon, not last night. The Citizen has had more than enough time to post the score.

Do you like to work on the weekends? I thought not. The Citizen Staff work during the week and deserve a day of rest. Because the FCHS game was not over at the same time as the other games, it wasn't reported. This happens whenever a game goes into overtime. Believe me, Sandy Creek and Fayette County are two of the most overlooked sports teams in the county (although maybe the Creek is making a comeback...).

Personally, I think a sports reporter that won't work on Saturday, is like a preacher who won't work on Sunday. Some jobs require you going a little further. Mikey, I'll send you an email.

I'm pretty sure that if you ask ANY news reporter, they will tell you that they really don't have a day off. All I ask for is a score so I don't have to search through the AJC for it. I like reading the news stories on this site and having the scores for all local teams would be great. I guess it's just not that important to some people to log in to the site for 2 minutes out of their busy day to post a score. I really feel like if it was a Whitewater or Starr's Mill game, it would be posted no matter when or where it was played.

I completely agree that there's some definite favoritism when it comes to the sports teams in this county. I'm just sayin' that when it comes to OT games, they get pushed to the curb on Saturday morning and will eventually be posted (I'm not condoning this, just stating facts). This happened several times when the Creek's games went over or late or were really far away games (like Creek v. Haralson).

Again, not condoning, I've just seen it happen repeatedly.

I know Tech gets some of it's marching band from Ga State, how will State's football program affect Tech's band?

No word yet on how that's going to be split up. It will be interesting if the two schools decide to share one band...
