A vote today from the Senate 83-7 voted to defund ACORN.. Senator Shelby announced he wants a full scale investigation into ACORN..
Who said Alabama was backwards.. Looks like their ahead of everyone else..

The unfulfilled promise of a Reagan presidency and Repub Congress should have been a wake up call way back then to Repubs/conservatives. It was a lot better than the BS that immediately preceded Reagan, but that's also when the Repubs seemed to decide that unprecedented deficit spending is kind of fun when you the ones in power, and so is greatly expanding the size and power of the government. Everything since then has been an exercise of conservatives being way overshadowed by the fundamentalist social wing and former conservatives like Cheney transforming into neo-conservatives, which isn't "conservative" at all.

I think the general disgust with politics in America and politicians is starting to cross party lines and actually become something more than a Dem/Repub, and it's a lot more than just anti-Obama. Maybe people are waking up FINALLY...we'll see. After this session of Congress is over and cap/tax is discarded by the Senate and health care reform looks rather mild, people might just go right back to sleep.

Of course, if there is any kind of noted terrorist attack on US soil, the fever of giving away rights and liberties in the name of "security" and increasing governmental size and power will start right back up and it will be business as usual.
