IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICES!!

Seven years later, the Terrorists in Iraq and the Taliban in Afghanistan are still blowing us up with all of the munitions wired together that we let them get their hands on after we "took" Baghdad, killed off Saddam and his two kids.
It was all over then---"MISSION ACOMPLISHED."

Just how many more tons of these "devices" are there? Why can't we find them now since we didn't bother then?

I am really fed-up seeing every day that anywhere from 2-10 more of our youngsters riding around in blast-proof vehicles are getting proof blasted to death from these so-called improvised things!

It is said as if it is OK since it is "improvised" bombs---not stand up and fight soldiers!

Those people have been fighting 7000 more years than we have and don't give a rat!

In an ambush this week woman and children were running ammo to the taliban to help them kill our forces. US forces have been instructed not to shoot back if civilians are present. To hell with that ignorant order. Take them out. All woman and children present will go in one great blast. What a stupid order by our leaders not to shoot back if civilians are present. The order should be take them all out, then the locals will get the point not to help the bad guys.

"mission accomplished" was no more G. Bush's idea than ACORN giving tax avoiddance advice was Barack Abama's idea. And having been personally involved with an IED, (command-detonated bomb hung in chicken wire on string and a fish hook), I am sympathetic with whatever means necessary to stop those who implant them.

Bush saw the Mission Accomplished sign when he got out of the plane on the deck of the Aircraft Carrier. I am familiar with carriers and I know he had to see it.

I have just re-read his speech on that day and will quote some of it for you:

"combat operations have ended"
"in the battle of Afghanistan also we have destroyed the Taliban"
"the 82ne airborne is right now on the tail of the rest"
"half of Al Quaida is destroyed"
" shown the world that we carried out the battle with boldness and speed by sending planes and missiles to destroy divisions or bunkers"
"the skill and might of America was shown"

I do agree that Bush would never have thought of a sign.
I do have a Little doubt about ACORN and its influence, but I doubt now that OBAMA has any wish to cooperate with them. I can't say if he had more to do with ACORN at one time than Bush did with OIL, BANKS, AIG, and of course the old buddy at ENRON.

I don't doubt that he saw it but my point was that it was neither his idea nor his direction. And you left out a meaningful word from the speech--the word "major" in front of "combat operations"--with your professed familarity with Carriers, I wouldn't expect you to know the difference that word brings to the discussion. And you may be surprised to hear that I don't support more troops for Afghanistan unless the General in charge says "I need"--and he has not done that yet. The real issue is security of the Pakistani government and their nuclear weapons. A stable Afghan govt is important to the stability of the entire region and I'm not sure the Afghanis care enough to make that happen. Sad indeed, but that's their history, made real by their culture.

soldiers in to take care of the IEDs.

Yeah, more to be blown up. We can't handle these dudes, can we?

Either occupy every square inch or get out!

Make West Virginia strip mines out of those stupid Pakistani Mountains! Drop the agent orange! Do something to win.
