You talking to me, you must be, I'm the only standing here!!!

Yeah,I grew up in New York, Yeah, I'm black and "YEAH" I live in Fayette County. First, white people never really get to know blacks, so before you make comments about us, take a walk or talk.
Most blacks in Fayette make more money and have brought there bags of cash with them from the Northeast. So, trashed counties like Clayton "ain't going happen". Most of the blacks in Fayette live in the richer more pleasing subdivisions. The range is 300,000 to over 1 million. So excuuuuse me!!! if my bringing my bag of money gets you pissed enough to be called racist. We Northerners who have come and intergrated your schools not only have the money to live here but even exceed your incomes. The last time I looked north I saw two sky scrapers fall and blacks and whites ran for there lives together. NOW! you racist who forgot this didn't take into account that most of the blacks here left that.

But as we know you fayette's who don't want us hard working blacks from the north who take up most of the expensive subdivision should take a ride over the Verazano Bridge to see two empty spaces that were knocked down by an enemy WHO DIDNOT CARE ABOUT RACE!!!!!!! So I push my kids till they get honors and shop in PTC, drink the designer coffee and drive my HOTROD down your streets. And if you think you recognize me, remember I am one of hundreds of newcomers that are black and rich enough to buy in your wealthiest subdivisions. Maybe if listen to the new blacks here and talked you would have known who we are and that our presents only makes Fayette Schools Better. Unless your just jealous !!!

Mon Dieu! I'm Black and was raised "in the North", moved to GA 24 years ago and now live in Fayette. I am amazed at your arrogance. Granted this is not a racial utopia but where in America truly is? People, no matter who they are have some prejudicial aspects, but to cast every resident in such a broad and sweeping allegation is both short-sighted and narrow minded. One of the other posters was correct. Your bags of money certainly didn't buy you any class.

MY HUSBAND AND I ARE THINKING ABOUT MOVING TO PTC WITH OUR CHILDREN.
HE IS AN EXCELLENT PHYSICIAN AND WE ARE BOTH VERY DESCENT, LAW ABIDING CITIZEN LOOKING FOR NOTHING BUT THE VERY BEST FOR OUR RETIREMENT AND OUR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION. ANY INDIVIDUAL IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD BE PROUD OF HAVING US AS NEIGHBORS.
KINDLY ANYONE TELL ME TRUTHFULLY SHOULD WE PACK OUR BAG OR NOT?
I AM IN A WAY WORRIED.

anyone who can't use the shift key on a keyboard is too challenged to live here. hubby may be a doctor, but we have enough of them already. you are perfectly welcome to be my neighbor, be my friend, but if being in my right mind is a requirement that is too high a hurdle. how about checking out henry county.

LIKE YOU USE CAPITAL LETTERS AFTER YOUR PERIODS. IMPERFECTIONS SHAPES LIVES AND MAKE US WHO WE ARE.
I AM NOT A COMPUTER LADY, BUT AS A NURSE SERIOUSLY I CAN BE AN ASSET TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD AS I AM TO SOCIETY. HUBBY IS NOT JUST A PHYSICIAN; A SUPERB AND EXCELLENT ONE. HE IS PRESENTLY TEACHING AT CORNELL.
PTC NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND I TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN THAT WE ARE MORE THAN JUST COMPLEXION OR ECNOMIC STATUS. EDUCATION AND RESPECT FOR SELF AND OTHERS WILL OPEN DOORS FOR THEM.
PEACHTREE IS LISTED AS ONE OF THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE IN MONEY MAGAZINE AND I AM SURE YOU'LL BE DELIGHTED TO HAVE US THERE.
I AM NOT LOOKING FOR ANOTHER COUNTY. I AM AN AMERICAN AND I WANT WHAT'S BEST FOR MY FAMILY AS MUCH AS YOU DO.

Mr WorldTradeCenter, your attitude is exactly NOT what I saw when I was watching New York collapse. I saw people of all kinds (which by the way, I wasn't paying attention to the color of their skin) working together, for the good of all. You should be ashamed to even call yourself Mr Worldtradecenter. With your anger and hatefullness, that is the last thing you should be equating yourself with. It is people like you that keep racism alive. By referring to black people in general as "us" or "we", you are keeping the races seperate. No one should be defined by their skin color and people who work to make sure "blacks" are looked at as different are only causing more harm. Racism is not just black against white, it is anyone one who looks down upon anyone else because they are not the same race as them. There is no "reverse discrimination"- it is what it is. I welcome all people into this county. My only request is that you work as hard as my parent's did and as my family is now to stay here and help to keep this county the good place it is. I grew up here and I am raising my children here. There are alot of things I don't like about Fayette county, and people with your attitude is one of them. Anyone deserves to live anywhere where they can pay their own bills and make their own way. No community needs your kind of hatred and racism, so why don't you consider moving somewhere where you will blend in more....like a bigger city where your ugliness won't stick out so bad.

In your post you state "We Northerners who have come and intergrated your schools not only have the money to live here but even exceed your incomes."

Do you not realize that only 43% of Fayette Countians are Native Georgians (ratio as of two yrs ago so probably less now). So my guess is that about half the bigots you are refering to are like yourself NORTHERNERS! Don't make it sound like you are referring to Southerners in general as the only bigots in this area. Bigots/Racist come in all shapes sizes colors and from all parts of the world NOT JUST THE SOUTH.
I am really tired of the south being the focal point of anything regarding race or bigotry when it is EVERYWHERE! FYI The north had slaves too ! And Lincoln wasn't so great, while he was trying to emanspate the slaves he had no control over slaves were building our beloved capital in Washington DC !

So, Mr. World Trade, you think "we" should welcome you with open arms because you are black, rich, and have a chip on your shoulder? It is obvious that you are uneducated. Your capitalization, grammar, and spelling errors are blatant. I know your children will at least be better educated than you by living in Fayette County. I sure hope they don't grow up with your attitude though. Did you ever think attitudes like yours cause white people not to like black people?

Has anybody driven through any of these upper class neighborhoods lately (in the past 5-10 years)? See how many homes have been foreclosed on or are currently for sale. How often do police come to these neighborhoods after being called for assistance in repossessing cars? In some of these homes, there is no furniture because the amount of money spent on the mortgage eliminates the ability to purchase the necessities of life. The “status” of living in a half-million dollar home sure must be great. I wish I could write to the paper to brag about my HOTROD (great spelling), I just hope the repo man doesn’t read The Citizen!

Why would anyone want a smart ass black New Yorker like you for a neighbor. You have three strikes against you. After reading your blog, it is obvious why we don't want you here. Your bags of money could NEVER give you class.
There are indeed many foreclosures in the north part of Fayette County.

My mama always told me you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Guess they don't teach that in New York. You will never be accepted here with your nasty attitude. I don't care if it is a black thing or a New York thing. Go back where you came from. We were getting along just fine before you and your kind came here. I would never try to get to know someone like you. Why would anyone want to befriend you and try to get to know you. You are a big bag of hot air. Your grammar, spelling, and punctuation show that of an uneducated clod. Guess your children will be the same. I bet your attitude has rubbed off on them. Wonder how they act in school?

Oh hey....it's obvious you didn't attend school in Fayette County yourself. You made some spelling errors in your message, which I will point out for your edification. Second paragraph, first sentence you wrote:"....and have brought there bags of cash....", which should be "...and have brought their bags of cash...". Also the next to last sentence in your message, you wrote: "....that our presents only makes Fayette schools better...", which should read (unless, of course you're really handing out presents to people, which I doubt)..."that our presence only makes Fayette schools better...". I hope your children spell better than you do and I certainly hope they don't catch your really, really bad attitude. I don't care where you live or how much money you have, I'm glad you aren't my neighbor. Oh, and by the way, I know we had people move this way after 9-11, but not "most" as you stated.

WOW!! What an attitude. I lived in Manhattan for two years early in my business career. You exhibit some of the characteristics of many people in that area. They all seemed to be unhappy. Take a deep breath, enjoy the fact that you live in a beautiful progressive city. Reach out instead of pushing away.

Wow. You seem to have a lack of self esteem and are trying to counter it with "My Dad makes more money than you".

Personally, I don't care where you live or what color you are, or how much you or your Dad make. For me it is the quality of the person that I choose in making my decisions. Your display of arrogance doesn't do your argument any justice, and certainly won't win me over as an advocate of yours.

People frequently live in houses that are very expensive, yet they cannot make ends meet and the next word is foreclosure. Many people, and I mean of all colors; have been buying extravagent homes on interest only loans. Again, they are most likely living beyond their means but are gambling that the housing market doesn't implode.

So, back to where I thought your point was going before you digressed into a monetary issue. Your take that all white people don't get to know blacks is racist. I can say the same in reverse about you and me. You don't know me and yet you can state with confidence, I must add; that I despise you because your black and rich? At the least that is an inflammatory comment and if that is truly your thought process, then I suggest you take your butt back to New York.

Despite Hollywood's attempts to always make Southern people look dumb, we are not. What we have done is moved beyond the days of slavery. My question is have you?

First, I'm glad you survived the World Trade Center attack.

Yes, there are plenty of racist people living in GA. White AND black. You can't have a differance in opinion these days without being called a racist. But, since you are new to this area, it is probably safe to ask you what you think about district voting. Would you rather vote for all of our County Commissioners or would you prefer to have districts so that a minority will have a better chance at getting elected by the minority population? I'm having a hard time understanding why anyone would want to give up their right to vote for the rest of the Commission just to have a minority elected. It seems like a self defeating and racist act to me.
