What will be Brown’s epitaph?

I take no issue with the basic historical facts underlying Mr. Brown’s Sept. 2 article on the original genius behind the founding of Peachtree City.

However, I find his belittling and maligning the efforts of Carolyn Cary, Joel Cowan, and Floy Farr for the benefit of Fayette County to be in poorest of taste and meanest of spirit.

If, as he writes, “Floy Farr is nothing but a mere footnote when it comes to the creation of Peachtree City,” then I must seriously wonder what comparatively lesser literary analogy future historians and writers may make with respect to Mr. Brown’s stormy mayorship.

An “editorial deletion on the copy room floor,” perhaps?

It's weird how no one disagrees with Steve Brown's facts, but they have to attack him.

I went back and read the Carolyn Cary piece Mr. Brown quoted from and found Cary's article to be no different in tone than Mr. Brown's article. So why the double standard?

Personally, I enjoy reading Steve Brown's articles. He keeps the crooked bunch on their toes.

Drawing 6 opponents as a one term incumbent has to be a record. If Cal didn't give him the free space every week, he's be no better remembered than Parlionterri, Stalder or Bongiorno.
