Crochet or Knitting Groups in PTC?

Where can a brand-new crocheter go for advice and/or constructive criticism? I'm trying to teach myself to crochet and it's going shakily, especially on the second row. Are there any groups who could help me figure this out? Also, a friend is thinking about taking up knitting, and would like some help. Can you tell the pre-Xmas crafting bug is hitting?

I will definitely check out Sugarfoot since it's so close to Omega Books, and am really looking forward to it. We'll check out the video suggestions too. Thank you all so much for your help!

There are wonderful tutorials available on the Lion Brand Website for both Crochet and Knitting. I have used them to teach friends. I understand there is a group of women who get together at the Gathering Place to knit and crochet. Church Prayer Shawl Ministries usually have quite a few folks who know how to do both and would be happy to help out.

A great website for information on patterns and other questions is Ravelry.com

Good Luck!

Go to Google. Type in Knitting tutorial or crochet tutorial. Your search will find videos at YouTube for knitting and crocheting and written instructions all over the web which should give you all the help you need.

Check out Sugarfoot Yarns in PTC. That is where my wife goes for help.

Check with Michael's in Fayetteville. I know at one time they had classes.

Don't know nothing about Knitting/Crocheting but we have a couple of County Commissioners who have been seen Weaving.
