Too bad if you missed the cash for clunker program. Maybe they'll resurrect it.

Is he is mostly correct. As much as I can't stand the Saudi's and others of their ilk we NEED them and their oil desperately. Our government has caused this dependence and as we move forward we will need them even more lest we start tapping our own petroleum resources.

But I suppose we could continue turning our food supplies and organic material into fuel we burn. Depleting our soil nutrients into fuel. How danged foolish is that? Does any realize the toll a crop like Switch Grass will take on land needed for food production? The silliness abounds.

Yeah... that jackass so-called prince is right. We do need them.

We have so few long-term plans for America anymore that people now fail to recognize one when they see it!

We want other countries with oil to drill and use up all of their oil over the next century so we can conserve ours for the long term future---don't you understand?

Yes, we have oil in shale, in coal, in many other things, but as long as we can see our way clear to use theirs we will! We have more natural gas than Noah could have used to re-populate the world!

Atomic or sun energy plants or dams can be blown-up---huge resources of oil can not be.

We still have a few "brains" left here although only the Lord knows how due to our methods of schooling anymore!

We should not fight such wars as Iraq however over oil.

Conserving our oil is not the goal with the anti-drillers. Although we just might benefit from these unintended consequences down the road. With all we will owe China and others the only plausible possibility I see is that we might rid ourselves of our upside down debt situation when we sell our oil down the road when the prices start hitting the 'hundreds of dollars' a barrel price.

Yes.... let's burn their up indeed. However, let's not get put in a situation where we can immediately harness our resources at a moment's notice.

Am I the only person who realizes that this so called "Successful government program" is a program where we pay people up to $4,500 for something worth (maybe on a good day) $500 and the other $4,000 comes out of MY paycheck? Geezus people. Are you kidding me?

Here's a great idea for a government program. Take a glute-load of money out of your paycheck and give it to some ill-prepared procrastinator who never bothered to buy an oil change for his car so he can now buy a new car. Better yet, just take my car and give it to him or her. (Oh, and they didn't clean out their gutters so you will need to add a few thousand for the roof repairs while you are at it.)

What's the difference?

So this poorly managed giveaway that rewards procrastinators for driving poor mileage piece of crap cars takes money from those of us who responsibly moved to a newer, more efficient high mileage car on our own dime and we call that a "successful government program"?

Geezus H. Stand in line- get free stuff. Wow, what a great, creative and efficient government program.

If the American people can't see this wealth re-distribution program for what it is, then we are in real trouble in the country.

Do you understand sarcasm or did you just use my post to rant without reading the link? You're barking up the wrong tree with this one. You glutes are showing!

I understand sarcasm and I piggy-backed off your post. It was the final straw on seeing the terms cash for clunkers. I did not intend to hijack your post- no offense intended- just needed to vent on this wealth re-distribution program that so many libs consider a 'success'.

As for Prince Turki al-Faisal and all those other Sheiks, although I agree that Obama is an idiot with a ludicrous energy policy, I say we drill now, drill here, drill often and tell them all to go pound sand as soon as possible.

I guess I do owe you something of an apology for taking you to task because I do agree wholeheartedly with your opinion on this one (BTW, many others also).
