A Fayetteville couple was attacked and robbed outside their home Aug. 21 near The Villages Amphitheater and downtown Fayetteville. Police have no current suspects in the robbery. It was approximately 9:30 p.m. when the couple arrived at their Camford Stone Path home in The Villages residential development near Tiger Trail and Ga. Highway 54, said Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw. The two had arrived home on their motorcycle and were waiting for the garage door to open when a man ran up and hit the husband, knocking him off the motorcycle and onto the ground, Crawshaw said. The woman, who had already gotten off the motorcycle, was also struck by the man and knocked to the ground and her purse was snatched, Crawshaw said. Neither was seriously injured. Both victims said they believe a second man was involved in the attack, though they could offer a vague description of one of the men who was said to be physically large, Crawshaw said. login to post comments |
