What’s up with all the chit chat about local liquor stores and then the main blog being deleted? Now, mind you, I completely understand why that "other blog" was deleted! But what was up with this one? What did I miss? Was it as bad as the last? I see that "AFZVIR's blog" and screen name is completely gone. Wow! Was this the same wing nut as before?

Rumor has it, Arnie is buying back his property and opening up shop again. Will be a welcome sight and once again Arnies will take the top place in PTC. Very good news if it's true.

Katie's Liquors leaves all the rest in the dust. Been here a long time and no one knows more than Eric about fine wine, beer and liquor.

Did you just move here or something, Katie's has been open what,
2 maybe 3 years. That hardly seems like a long time to me. Now Brandon's has been here a long time in fact its been open ever since I've been here (20 yrs). I went into Katie's one time and the prices were much higher than Brandon's and I haven't been back. You have to pay for that new building somehow.

Katies prices are about 5-15% higher almost across the board. Disagree if you want to but it is still a fact. As far as knowledge is concerned, some of the staff are very knowledgable at Brandon's.

The sign on the building says World of Beverage opening soon, same owner as the excellent World of Bev in Tyrone and it will cover the whole building as Bost has moved to a new location.

Didn't Arnie's go bankrupt?
Boring with a bigger auger than they had power!

A zillion dollars worth of inventory on credit maybe?

Not with the limited distributors in GA.....it's COD all the way.

Submitted by Bonkers on Mon, 08/24/2009 - 10:27am.

Are you saying Arnie just quit and didn't go broke?

Maybe a liquor distributor does do COD, I don't know, but if he had the borrowed cash to pay them it is still borrowed from someone else. Don't you think at all?

Now, just who pays cash out of pocket, not owed, for such inventory?
No one.

It is against state law to extend credit for alcohol sales, Period!
When I was a young man I drove a beer truck and everyone had to pay in cash or check, no exceptions.

Just for the record, "Arnie" had sold & it was the new person who evidently mismanaged into foreclosure.
