Another fine example of Government run Healthcare
The Native American Indian.. The first real Americans.. I know.. I know don’t give me grief over this land was not called America then.. That’s beside the point.
Is there anyone out there that thinks the Indians have had a good time dealing with the Government?
“The US Constitution’s Commerce Clause put tribes on the same level as states and foreign nations, signifying that Congress and tribes, rather than states or towns, shall govern tribal affairs.
The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has found that cultural insensitivity, high poverty rates and low education levels, high staff turnover, and outdated facilities all contribute to poor Indian health. The biggest factor, however, is a severe lack of funding. IHS reports that only 18% of its operating units were funded above 80% of need in 2004, with 61% below 60% of need. This severely limits access to quality health care. For example, James Melbourne, medical director of Montana’s Fort Peck Tribe, said in 2008 that the tribe has to pay for its own dialysis machines and sexual abuse examinations, and because there is no tribal nurse anesthesiologist, most babies are born off reservation.”( Prepared by the Episcopal Church Office of Government Relations)
Government Run Healthcare at it’s (sic) BEST???
How many more examples do I need to bring to the table.. Our “Government” can’t run anything without screwing it up to the point it becomes non-functional. Bureaucracy is its middle name and Bureaucrats run it all.
You would think the big hearted “Liberals” would do better with one of the most legitimately aggrieved people in America, but when the Government gets involved in anything.. It inevitably gets screwed up.
Progressive’s among us wants the exact same coverage for us governed by the exact same Government that runs the Bureau of Indian Affairs Healthcare program. Why can't we fix the in-justices the in-equality and in-effective in the system.. Why must we spend our Great Grandkids into debt?
Why.. Power, Control Maybe?
