Fayetteville police and sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man who robbed the Bank of America on Ga. Highway 314 and New Hope Road Saturday morning between 11:15 and 11:30 a.m.

The robber showed no weapon, said Fayetteville Police Capt. Jeff Harris. Instead, the robber presented a note to a teller after which the robber left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, Harris said.

A witness told police that the robber walked out of the bank down New Hope Road a short distance before disappearing into the woods, Harris said.

K-9 units and the sheriff’s department’s helicopter were deployed in the search of nearby neighborhoods immediately after the incident.

The robber was described as a black male approximately six feet tall, clean shaven, wearing a white dress shirt and black pants. He is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old.

At least we know his color. Sounds like he was nicely dressed, maybe on his way to church.
