Has anyone tried the AT&T U-verse yet? Do you like it or have any comments?

Just wanted to add a warning ....I signed on with AT&T Univis system back the end of May. It was sold to me as a BUNDLED package...TV CABLE, WIRELESS PHONE, UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE and HIGH SPEED INTERNET. After three months of phone calls I find no "$107.00" monthly "combined rate" as promised. In fact my Wireless ( which I have since discontinued) went from 24.00 to 34.00 per month. It was paired with my home phone and longdistance which they finally have brought to a reasonable rate. As for Cable Tv and Internet it runs
$134.00 TO 140.00 PER MONTH ALONE. They Tv Cable is great and is a savings of the $73.00 per month I paid to Direct TV without any premiems IE HBO, SHOWTIME. CMAX. Also, forget the "advertised' bundled rebate I can't find one and obtaining one is near impossible.

Installation yesterday went smoothly. Installer (David) was knowledgeable and courteous. Answered all my questions without displaying any exasperation. Really pleased with TV results. After years of complaints to Comcast, and its predecessors, I now have picture perfect reception. All this is on the same cable that has been in the house for over 20 years that cable cos. had told me was inadequate for today’s service. Got U-Verse equivalent of my old DSL (6 and 1 meg rates) and system speeds seem to be comparable. This is standard TV with no HD involved. Replaced a direct to TV expanded basic cable hookup. Quadrupled my channel availability, with at least a couple that I may actually watch. Did get back the channels that have been dropped by Comcast over the last year.

One question I asked got an unexpected response. It matches Brian’s experience. Found out my bundle billing will be gone. Not the impression I had when ordering Now I'm not sure if the quote I obtained is for the U-Verse only or for my total package. Guess I'll find out at billing time.

If it's not, count me out. I've been told it's limited to 1 HD stream and a highspeed connection at once, or two HIDEF streams and no internet. Basically, the bandwidth is limited for multi tasking...maybe this has changed.

Signed up as soon as I found out U-verse TV was available in my area. Comcast has been the biggest pain in the a-- I've ever dealt with. Half of my channels look like I'm still living in upstate NY in mid-winter. Think my cost is going to be slightly higher than my current At&T / Comcast combination. Currently have At&T bundled local, long distance and DSL. Also get a little discount for cell bundled in billing. U-verse phone is not currently available here (bit north of Crosstown) and I may switch when it is.

We have the new AT&T U-Verse and love it. No problems with TV going out due to storms, DSL runs faster, etc..

My Husband works for AT&T and can possibly assist you with getting answers on availability, questions...

Contact me here via email & see what we can do to help. It's a great product and the demand is in full swing.

I strongly recommend it, plus the cost is cheaper when you bundle.

entrances on Braelinn Rd. and called the phone # listed 4 days ago. Got a recording and left a message asking when our neighborhood (not on Braelinn Rd.) was scheduled to be done. That was 4 days ago and no callback yet. Same old AT&T lack of customer service, I guess.

I already did the research and found that I can save $50.00 per month. So, I will most likely go ahead and do it. My big hesitation other than not know anyone else who has made the switch is that I can't stand AT&T marketing. We use AT&T at work and get any from 1 to 3 phone calls per day from AT&T trying to get us to sign up for additional services. Basically, I am already fed up with the constant inerruptions at work and I am afraid to give them my cell number.
