Chick-fil-A recently announced that Fayetteville resident Zach Yokum was awarded the 1,000 Leadership Scholarship. Yokum was nominated by Mike Holmes, operator of the Chick-fil-A of Kedron Village. “The program recognizes employees who have acquired the leadership qualities and skills necesary to be successful in life while providing an additional incentive for our employees to remain dedicated and work hard,” said Holmes. “Zach is being recognized for demonstrating abilities to accomplish great things.” In addition, Yokum is eligible for Chick-fil-A’s S. Truett Cathy Scholar Award which provides additional $1,000 scholarships to the top 25 Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship recipients each year. Yokum graduated from the J.P. Academy of Excellence and dual enrolled at Clayton State University his senior year as an Elite Scholar, Phi Theta Kappa member and made the dean’s list both semesters. He is a member of the Eagle’s Nest Christian Educatiors Homeschool Association and was also an ETA Sigma Alpha National Honor Society for Homeschoolers member. He will attend Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va. on a 100 percent full, four year tuition scholarship studying cinematography. He was Director of Photography and Chief Production Editor of the movie, “The Sword,” which was a 2009 Young Film Makers semifinalist in the 5th annual San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival. He is the son of Julie and Ty Yokum and the brother of Nick Yokum. login to post comments |
