PTC Police: 'Supicious cart path activity' based on bogus reportsThu, 07/30/2009 - 11:19am
By: The Citizen
Peachtree City police say alleged suspicious activities on the cart path system in the Kedron Village area reported July 29 never happened. These incidents included an alleged robbery and assault, reports of which proved to be bogus. "After an investigation into the two reported incidents, it has been determined that these incidents did not occur. The juveniles that reported the separate incidents falsely reported the robbery and assault," police said. "While the department wants our citizens to remain vigilant in reporting incidents of this nature, and to take reasonable safety precautions, at this time, there are no valid reports of criminal activities related to the two reported incidents," a Thursday news release from Chief Skip Clark said. "Information has been forwarded to the Police Department regarding rumors and inferences regarding these reported crimes," police said. "We would like to remind citizens that to obtain accurate information, it is always best to check with the police department at 770-487-8866," Clark said. Additionally, the Police Department offers the INet program, free of charge, to anyone who wishes to subscribe. All that is required is an email address and the Department will send updates, information, and crime prevention tips directly to your email inbox.
