Maybe some remedial reading classes are in order. There is very clearly posted on the door that you must walk through to enter a full sheet of paper sign stating that if you are not 21 do not enter and if you are over 21 to have your I.D ready. How hard is that to understand? You wrote a blog and unless you had help writing it you must be able to read somewhat. The sign uses simple words to understand...

I agree with you about the terrible treatment SOME people recieve at Line Creek Liquor. They treated my son and I a similiar way using the same profane language. They can take my business and shove it where the sun don't shine. I hope everyone will follow and they will have to close the doors for lack of profits. I hate to think of them as a nieghbor in PTC! I'll give my business to Brandon's and recommend the same for ALL my friends and family.

Ha...BadPTC & PTCgv....you are both just too funny. It was great reading a bit of humor on these pages.I think the mentioned liquor store will find out exactly about how people feel about them before long. They may mouth off to the wrong person one day...ie,a police officer,in plain clothes. I'd like to be there for that! Shocked)

I am sorry to hear of your sitaution - it is awful to be treated poorly at any established business.
Yet, I can not bite my tongue - to the person asking "Why were you in a Liquor Store if you claim to be a nice guy?", I have two words - GROW UP! Really? That is all you took from this situation? Really? Keep hiding behind that Bible...

Submitted by I_LOVE_PTC on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 3:46pm.

comic relief RE:
i am no bible thumper i am just a nice guy who helps people out when they need it but i am also the kind of guy who would take a smart a** like you and break your legs. That being said "you should always be careful you who meet in your life because looks can be deceiving in many ways good and bad” and for the last stupid thing you said you said re: one of the first things i said is YES we went in to buy beer i dont think there is anything wrong with that because i drink just about everyday. I Love Beer.
RE:Grow Up?Really?... What i got from the situation is two (2) COWARDS Both fat with short man syndrome hiding behind a gun and a phone with the police on it. WHY? who knows i guess because they are sissys. all i wanted was some beer and wanted to share with everyone what racist morons they are. then a clown like you comes along and trys to make US look like the bad guys YOU GROW UP. DUDE. (dude: a word more one your level)(also a word they like to use for there patrons)real funny! I was also a FOR LIFE military member. GO ARMY! you Pus -

And what a way to be a nice guy. With nice guys like you who needs bad guys... Maybe Line Creek is better off without you!

Um, I wrote my "blog" in defense of YOU and your unfortunate experience...read it again. I'm rather perplexed how you think I was attacking YOU, I was commenting on the person who implied that "good people" do not go into liquor stores...
This being written, it will be interesting to see if you use your reading skills and comprehension skills and apologize for not being able to comprehend the context of what I wrote.
Silly me. What do I know, dude? Love, Pus (CLASSY for a Military member)

Submitted by Hey on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 4:47pm.

I think freespeech was commenting to the person who asked you why you were in the liquor store. It was a stupid question and they seemed to assume that because you were in there you couldn't be a great person. Read it again, slower this time. I think you owe freespeech an apology for that response.

Thank you to "Hey" for understanding what I wrote and suggesting a second read...I am not a "blogger", this thing is new to me, seems interesting to throw ideas and thoughts around, and yet...I'm not so sure now. Thanks for understanding where I was coming from!

>>>>>>I am a respectable member of our community and an avid helper at most all community events. I am that guy that everyone is always thanking for the help with things in the community, help at there house, doing that stuff at the church, coaching there kids during soccer season and every other little thing I can do in-between. My friend is the guy you look to for help when it comes to golf in many aspects of the game from the grass to the lessons you need. Now that you know what kind of people we are I will tell you how horrible we were treated today at that very rude store.

Isn’t the story obvious why we were in a liquor store? We went in to buy beer didn’t you read the story? Or are you subject to the same slander he yelled at us about the reading part? Yeah none of it makes since does it? Thanks a lot guy

OK, I'll bite: just how many convictions for selling to underage minors has Line Creek Liquor Store had? Since you say "numerous," maybe you know? Maybe you can also tell everyone why they haven't had the liquor license suspended or revoked since they have been caught "numerous times" violating the law.

I don't know about the citations but the guys at Line Creek do seem to be a little too aggressive with checking IDs. I was in there a few weeks ago and witnessed a similar situation. One guy went in to buy some beer and the cashier noticed a second guy out in the car. So the cashier demanded to see the second guys ID. I'm not really sure why the 2nd Id was necessary.

They grow kids big now. Sometimes you just can not tell. But just because you look old enough doesent mean they should not card you. It's the law. They are following the letter of it. I don't really see a huge problem with checking ID.

didnt get any ended up going to brandons who have a much better store and those guys are super nice. Sammy A there though

Submitted by MYTMITE on Tue, 07/28/2009 - 10:01pm.

Loved your comment. I must say the guy in the liquor store must have been an equal opportunity racist since you are usually called a redneck or the n word not both. And if the guy was neither, what was the employee thinking--not very original, was he? They card me all the time and call me "Hey, old lady" or if they are trying to be cute "little lady", now I find that offensive!! Thought I read all the news fit and unfit to read about our area, especially the police blotters (always looking for my friends or enemies names) and never saw anything re: this establishment. What gives??

And I could use some work in my yard if these nice guys have any spare time.

Well starship would be nice, since it would be easier to buy it in person than through the mail like everyone else.....

As for the liquor store, I've been in there many times and haven't had a problem. Although I usually go to the other one near Steven's Entry since those guys know their beer. Plus it's less crowded.

We can get by with just 2 or 3 liquor stores and if some are going to close it might as well be this one. Hard to access anyway. Brandon's on the north and Arnie's on the south are all we need. Half of PTC's business goes to that one on 74 in Fairburn since it is on the way home for commuters and their prices are usually a dollar a bottle cheaper than the stores in PTC.

Submitted by Spyglass on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:37am.

myself..it's a nice store and the new owners at Brandon's aren't exactly all that nice.

That said, I'll go out of my way to shop locally and support PTC business's. Sometimes it's just nice to take a cart ride and get something on a nice Saturday afternoon. Fairburn doesn't work so good for this. Smiling

Arnies has been closed for a while, the new owners also ran it into the ground.

Submitted by AtHomeGym on Thu, 07/30/2009 - 3:31pm.

Yeah, Spy, I like Katie's too but when I go to a booze store, it's to get a product I want at the best price. I haven't found a place yet to beat Brandon's wine prices. Plus, they carry Full Sail Beer. As long as I get reasonable civility from a merchant, I'll go back. But if poked, I can be as ornery as a bear with the redass!

Noticed a sign on the building that it's about to become another World of Beverage location. It appears it will occupy the whole building as the chiropractor office is also vacant as Bost moved to a new location.

Submitted by Spyglass on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:39pm.

in my opinion...that location is a nice cart ride from my house, and I can get a few other things too in the shopping center.

Submitted by Bonkers on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 8:16am.

Hasn't Arnies gone broke twice?

No, according to the desperate need, we don't have enough liquor stores.

If all the liquor and beer shipped into 30269 is added up and divided by the adults and tenagers, they all are drinking a fifth per day or more.
Doesn't count mail order or web! Or from Wholesale houses.

We must be drinking two fifths a day.
What we need are alcoholic counselors and AA stores.
Add the dope on top of that and it is no wonder we have such dudes parading around.

Arnie's is closed.

There should have been a community announcement, perhaps a special notice in the local church bulletins and even a moment of silence in city hall.

I knew they closed, just didn't know what its new name was going to be for its 3rd opening.

Hope they do well. I really miss seeing Arnie - he was the best.

Katie's I forgot about. Heard they were way overpriced, but have never gone there myself - maybe tomorrow to compare prices with the Fairburn store.

Submitted by Bonkers on Thu, 07/30/2009 - 8:58am.

Can't you get enough at one place?

Submitted by Spyglass on Thu, 07/30/2009 - 8:36am.

to me...but yeah, they are a little cheaper..like I said above, I prefer to shop locally...but hey, it's your $$$...and our City Taxes. Smiling

Unfortunately, the economy hit Arnies bad, the owners were great but the mortgage was a killer. I am glad to see someone filling the need on the southside because the place at Wilshire is too expensive and has such limited offerings. Brandons has always been great, good prices and awesome service. Line Creek is not very nice, I bought two 12 packs of Amstel (not a cheap beer) and when we got home we realized 3 of the cans were faulty (empty with holes) and at $1 or more a piece I brought them in and was given a runaround. Never been back since.

Submitted by Bonkers on Thu, 07/30/2009 - 3:23am.

A few of you discussing liquor stores as if they were some kind of Church, never fail to fascinate me!

How great the help or owners are, how nice they are, or not. How big of a selection they have, as if you didn't buy the same crap every time!

Isn't all beer cheaper at Kroger anyuway? Or don't they carry "snob beer?"

It all tastes like rotten seeds to me.
I like Pepsi Cola.
My pepsi sales person is magnificant!

Submitted by skyspy on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:19pm.

Great customer service, and the largest selection of top shelf products. The only other place that has the same level of service is Tower Pkg store in Buckhead. It's much easier to go to Katies.
