The Big Poppy Bomb

Did you see that big poppy blowup in Afghanistan on thr news?
For all I know it was mostly explosives and few poppies, but at least they did something.

The problem is what will these people sell in order to buy more poppy seeds?
(By the way hadn't the poppy bulb sap already been harvested for the year?)

Somebody said plant them a crop of Vidalia Onions and grits--we will buy that from them!
Others said no, green beans and tomatoes!
But I say, Marijuana!
California is about to legalize it and they have more people than Afghanistan and Iraq! The labor must be less there than in California.

It would be hard to teach those old dudes who slit and scrape the poppy bulbs for the nectar, to grow a new weed that doesn't even have a bulb. They probably wouldn't even like it even for personal use. Anyway it takes a truck-load of dried MariJuana to be equivalent in dollars to a small bucket of poppy squeezins!

Another suggestion for them: corn!
Not to ship here for cows, but for them to make "mash." (sugar from Cuba)
I don't know if AfghanJack drink would compete with Daniels of Lynchburg, but it could be shipped in here in barrels and we could bottle it.

Those folks have got to have something they can sell! Otherwise we will furnish the welfare forever.

I'm not familiar with the Red Sox player and a connection to Poppies!
