The Wise Latina

Did anyone notice, as I did, that the unending dickering about that statement in a speech has caused turmoil?

Now I realize that some Latin heritages, like the Black heritages, have evolved into a situation where the female is actually head of the family in the home. They are not always head out of the home.

It just seemed strange to me that the statement wasn't made or argued about all Latinos, men and women.

Are there no "wise Latinos?" Are there just "wise Latinas?"

If we don't understand that much about minority races in our country then we are never going to reach the goal of "oneness."

And for once religion has little to do with it except the Catholic Church has most of Latino business tied-up and the AME the other. (what of each who aren't active in either religion doesn't seem to matter either way.)

Are you saying that there may be an anti-female sentiment going on here?
That 'wise Latina' held up very well under the GOB's questioning this week. Many were proud of her answers - and convinced that she is not a 'racist', nor a radical judicial activist. Her record showed that she ruled according to 'law' and not emotion. Even the firefighters who testified felt she was qualified. Affirmative Action, for most, has served its purpose. However, the civil rights laws, which have been instituted, benefit all - and should be seen as just that - equal protection and equal opportunity for all under the law.

Frankly, I don't likr her. But she has been chosen by a new President and is qualified. She can be blamed for rulings we don't like. However, I'm tired of 5/4 votes! Can't we put Jessee on there or Newt?

If we picked all John Roberts' we wouldn't need but one of them on the court, not nine.

Maybe we need to re-write the over two hundred year-old Constitution by a Canon idea like group of Southerners, Northerners, Latinos, Latinas, (wise ones), AME preachers, Catholics, Televangelists, and rest of the Protestants. What no Muslim, Buddahs or Hindis? Also a CEO or two, a Banker or two, and one lawyer to take notes. No doctors,
PhD or MD. We do need to read it better this time!

After all I have never know what a well regulated militia was or is!
It don't think it is Bubba Johnson with a Glock or an AK-47, manual or automatic!

There is no great need to rewrite or amend the Constitution, Bonkers. We have made it very malleable and able to evolve to fit our times and mood--And our mood seems to be for a very strong, encroaching, and increasingly unaccountable Central Government. The Courts are like reeds in the wind, bending to the winds of public opinion and shrill discourse
