I needed to get a few records for my son to get his drivers license and called the Board of Ed on Friday around 2pm. The phone rang and rang for ever, no answer. I called WHS and the same thing. If they are going to close on Fridays at least have a message that they are closed for goodness sake.

My wife has the same problems just to get information about registering my kids for school. Since the districts keep changing on us, to get the correct information we have to call. I'm not going to drive all that way just to find it closed. I know about Fridays, but still a message would be nice. What about those who just moved here during the summer? The don't know about all the online information just yet. But no answer on the phone isn't a nice way to show what kind of school system we have here.

They have caller ID and know they are ignoring someone whose son did not follow directions and obtain his needed paperwork before the end of the school year........lol

Check the website for FCBOE or the individual schools for the summer hours. It posts the summer hours. I also remember getting a letter with the report cards explaining the summer hours. All buildings were closed last week as with every Friday in the summer. Hope this helps you out.

I am not sure what these civilians at that office do in the summer, They get paid, this much I know from the budget.
What is planned out for them to earn the money I don't know.

It is similar to all tax paid ofices only being open during day hours---when we all work, mostly!
They simply do not want to work nights, nor do the supervisors!

At Starrs Mill, they announced about a week before school got out that you needed to request drivers license paperwork at least 3 days before school got out. It would not be issued over the summer break. Not sure if they really stick to it or not.

Mom to 3 (and all of their friends, who love to hang out at my house-- LOVE THAT, almost always know where they are!!!)

at McIntosh...it was the parents/childs responsibility to obtain this paperwork BEFORE school let out. But that meant your child actually had to be paying attention. Obviously, ours was. Smiling
