A Fayetteville man was arrested over the weekend for assaulting his girlfriend during a party in south Fayette County on May 23, sheriff’s officials said.

Shane Kieran Blake, 21, of Watershed Way is accused of pushing the victim to the ground and then kicking her in the jaw, officials said.

As a result of the assault the victim’s jaw was broken, according to Lt. Belinda McCastle of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

The altercation began at the party after Blake began kissing other women, leading his girlfriend to slap him, McCastle said. The fight escalated from there as Blake pushed the victim off the porch before kicking her in the jaw, McCastle said.

The incident wasn’t reported to deputies until June 24, and the victim was advised because of the delay she could apply for an arrest warrant with the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office, which ultimately approved the charges.

Blake is charged with aggravated battery in connection with the incident.

I bet you that she will be back with him. Probably already is if this F-hole is out of jail. They should pass a law that if in an abusive relationship and the spouse or girlfriend / boyfriend goes back for more or they have sex after the incident it should be considered reconciliation and all charges if any be dropped! However if they get back together the should both have to pay a fee to the Sheriff's office or the city PD for wasting their time.

good for an episode of "Cheaters", but is it truly newsworthy?

I would have preferred it not be put in the paper, although the "Cheaters" idea is very cute.
This has not been a fun or easy six weeks, so keep any negative comments to yourselves.
p.s. Not with the jerkoff. That is all, thanks.

reported in TheCitzen. Do you write posts against the AJC and other newspapers when they report similar incidents, as they all do---also television news, except they repeat it over and over. Could it just be you may have an axe to grind with TheCitizen? I certainly would not keep reading something that bothers me as much as TheCitizen seems to bother you--and you wouldn't even have to cancel your subscription!

Actually you can't cancel the citizen. They throw it in your yard whether you like it or not.

Matt, if you call and ask that they discontinue to throw the paper they will stop. Anyway, I was making a point. FayetteFlyer was responding by a blog to an online version. He must have typed in the name, pulled up the paper and made the decision to read the article and blog his reply. All his choice.

I understand. I was really just being a smart a**. But I heard calling them doesn't work. Its just too much for the guy in the car to keep up with.

ok, I went ahead and left a message to stop delivery of the paper at my house. We'll see how that goes.

It won't go!
You don't have to read it though---many do not.

I like reading it. (on the internet) I hate picking it up.
