By: John Munford
A server at La Hacienda in Peachtree City was arrested Thursday after police caught him serving alcohol with a phony alcoholic beverage handling permit. Javier Luis Laguan, 29, of Peachtree Station Circle, Peachtree City was charged with forgery in the second degree and obstruction of a police officer. An undercover operation was undertaken after Peachtree City detectives were informed an employee at the restaurant was working there with a fraudulent alcohol handling permit. Officers observed Laguan serving alcohol with a permit that was an unauthorized reproduction of the city’s alcohol handling permit. The alcohol handling permit system requires individuals to have their criminal background checked before they are approved to serve alcohol in any city establishment. The permits are issued in the form of badges which are to be worn at all times when a person is on duty and handling alcoholic beverages, officials have said. login to post comments |
