Timberlake manhunt May 21 09

Sheriff’s deputies have a man who ran on foot from a sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop this morning and then hid in a house in the Timberlake subdivision, police said.

Christopher Thomas, 20, of Harmony Village Apartments in Peachtree City, was arrested at the home at 245 Brown's Crossing, said Maj. Bryan Woodie of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

Thomas was found inside a home at 245 Brown's Crossing in the Timberlake subdivision, where a K-9 unit tracking Thomas had led deputies minutes earlier, Woodie said. Deputies knocked on the door after the search led there and the occupants indicated all was fine, Woodie said.

But deputies developed information while in the area that the suspect was holed up in the home, and on the second visit by deputies Thomas was located and the other two were also arrested, Woodie said.

During the manhunt, a resident at Harmony Village Apartments called 911 to report a stolen vehicle in the hopes of distracting law enforcement involved in the manhunt, Woodie said. A search of that apartment conducted by Peachtree City police yielded a stolen AK-47 rifle, according to police radio reports.

The manhunt led to a swarm of deputies and Peachtree City police officers taking up station in Timberlake and adjacent neighborhoods.

Why don't you buy crimony village, and burn it down. Drive the "law abiding challenged" destined for a life of crime back to cabbagetown. Build your own ice rink, and charge a fee that would actually cover the expense of running it?.

Good job to the Sheriffs dept and PTC police for getting a few more maggots off the streets.

We might as well start speculating what nickname our favorite group of people will give to Peachtree City and the hardknock life we lead here. P-town? Pee tee see? The tree?

All hoods must be so named.

Keepin' it real!

John, Thanks for making sure everyone sees how poorly the weeds at the edge of my yard are getting out of control Smiling You didn't see any of my empty beer bottles back there did you? I'm glad to know my wife and neighbors who were home turned out OK through this. I'm glad they were all calling each other to make sure not to go outside and keep their doors locked.

Heh Heh. You said "weed!"

Upon further review of that tall "weed" to the right of the deputy, it may indeed be "weed!" Eye-wink

Just kidding of course. Just goes to show: You never know when the Fayette Co. paparazzi is gonna show up at your door!

For those of you that did not grow up in the South and don't know any better, that Weed that John is referring to is called, drum roll please, Poke Salad! This weed can and was eaten in the past by poor people in the south, it can only be eaten after cooking 3 time and washing it between as it contains toxins. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program>

Why just focus on the guy from Harmony? The folks at the house in Timberlake pretended he wasn't in their house! They're part of it too!

Mom to 3 (and all of their friends, who love to hang out at my house-- LOVE THAT, almost always know where they are!!!)

I wonder what criminal mischief they were engaged in. A stolen AK and a coordinated decoy 911 certainly shows a criminal conspiracy. I wonder how culpable Harmony Village is to police their lease holders.

I think Whitewater Creeks guards could be put to better use over at Dis-Harmony village. They could provide protection for the rest of south Fayette by restricting Dis-Harmony residents access to the public roadways. Now, if only we could persuade the WWC residents to continue their funding.
