Letter from a Dodge dealer

You will see this type of thing happening more and more as the Obama administration tightens its grip on the free market and continues with its quest to turn this great country into a socialist nirvana.

I really love the line, “This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009.”

What a business plan. Jack up the price so that it’s unreasonable to begin with and then ‘bargain’ with the customer over ‘factory incentives’ so they feel like they got a good deal.

“Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler's insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.”

No doubt Mr. Joseph has that in a written statement form Chrysler.

As for the rules of a ‘free market’ only the strong survive, all others go die. That’s how it’s supposed to work.

The Govt. shouldn’t be in the business of lending failing businesses taxpayer money, that will NEVER be paid back, because the business is either poorly run or can no longer compete in the current global economy with a 30 year old business plan.

See:, An administration official confirms that a $4 billion bridge loan and $3.2 billion in bankruptcy financing won't be paid back by Chrysler following bankruptcy.

Fred, tell Mr. Joseph to read, 300 dealers to sue Chrysler to fight closure

The whole banking, mortgage and auto industry meltdowns are just more in a long list of shinning examples of people living beyond their means and then looking for someone else to blame for their failures.

You should run a business by reinvesting your ‘profits’ NOT borrowing gobs of money from banks and hoping you can pay it back.

Voodoo and/or Ouija board economics has never worked yet there are plenty of fools still willing to try it.

how a PROFITABLE dealer is costing them money? Maybe someone here will chime in, because frankly, I'm at a loss for a reason.

I know some guys involved with this FIASCO, and they are their wits end.

That letter sums it up perfectly.
