McIntosh Soccer

Cheers to the McIntosh Chiefs soccer team for reaching the State finals for a second year and becoming nationally ranked - #1!

Jeers to the fishwrap called the Citizen - not worth the effort to pick it up out my driveway. McIntosh gets a small two column article buried on the Sports page. In case you did not know, this is an incredible achievement. Your chronic and blatent favoritism of Starrs Mill shines again. I suspect if Starrs Mill had reached this level, they would have been on the front page (where McIntosh belongs) for several days running. I bet if they lose at the States, then you will put it on the front page!

It was a thrilling game. Marist has had a way tripping-up McIntosh throughout the years.

Interesting how the blogger says the Citizen is not worth picking up, but cares enough to post a blog on the website.

... are able to recruit and to give scholarships. It hardly makes for a level playing field wouldn't you say?

Kudos to McIntosh and Whitewater for such great soccer seasons. I am not exactly sure what the blogger with the Starr's Mill complaint is talking about. Starr's Mill is currently in the third round of state baseball playoffs and I didn't know that until my son told me so today.

All of the kids in your county have a lot to be proud of. if your taxes were a little more realistic and your appraisals weren't such a joke I would live there in a hurry.

For now, we enjoy Coweta and are hoping to enjoy some of your 'Fayette County like' success at NHS soon.

Congratulations to all the Fayette County/PTC schools, you have much to be proud of despite your school board. Eye-wink

This has always been a bone of contention with many public school coaches; there are no boundaries for private schools, this allowing for recruiting anywhere, in and out of state. The playing field is certainly not level, however, our public schools continue to show that they can compete regardless of the imbalance. The private schools should have their own post season championships, square and fair.

I would recommend we return the the 1.5 formula where private school students are counted as 1.5 times the population to classify them or that they all have to compete in the largest (AAAAA) classification.
