Two men were arrested this morning after an alert resident called 911 to report a burglary in progress in the Northridge subdivision in north Fayette County, officials said.

Upon the deputies' arrival at 115 Benson Circle shortly after 10 a.m., the suspects fled on foot; one was apprehended quickly while the other fled into the woods, officials said. Minutes later the second suspect was arrested, officials said.

Arrested were Tai-ri Darnell Crocker, 24, of Atlanta and Lamar Antonio Robinson, 22, of College Park. Both are charged with burglary while other charges are pending, sheriff's officials said.

The Northridge subdivision is located in north Fayette County just off Ga. Highway 279 in between Ga. highways 314 and 138.

Fayette County Sheriff Wayne Hannah applauded the alert citizen who noticed suspicious activity in the neighborhood and dialed 911 to report it. He urges all residents to call 911 when they see suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.

The sheriff's office wants to partner with residents in the community to combat crime and has a Community Watch program available to encourage residents to get involved.

For more information about the sheriff's Community Watch program, call the sheriff's office community relations office at 770-716-4801.

I would hope that all neighbors, regarless of race, creed, etc, etc, would watch out for one another. These times seem to be bringing out the desperation and worst of those who believe they are entitled to something simply because they exist. True vigilance is the best deterent. Well, that and a good .45!

Good Job to both the alert citizen and the FCSO. The neighbors in my neighborhood look out each other and we all try to keep an eye out for suspicious types and vehicles. I will tell you that it one is caught in my home they'll leave under a sheet!

Amen. Do you think if we (residents of Fayette County) would just shoot some of these guys, they might think twice about coming to Fayette County.

Hell, If you shoot em I don't believe that they will be able to think twice.

White men commit most white collar crimes and kiddie fiddling.

Remember that before you judge Tai-ri Darnell and his homie LaMar too harshly.

Wayne Hannah, white male, should just shut up and keep his opinions to himself.

I have been a victim of crimes 6 times in my life(4 times the police caught the perps), my house was robbed when I was 12, I was mugged when I was 25, I was the victim of attempted assault when I was 23, my car was broke into when I was 30 and my credit card number was stolen twice..The two violent crimes were not committed by white folks..They caught the house robber..not white..and the credit card thieves were not either...Sorry but unless I know you..I am going to think of the Stereotypes...

I would imagine most white-collar crime is perpetrated by people who work for a living.

What makes you think these criminals aren't white?? Was race brought up in this crime? Does anyone know the race of these violent criminals??

The only opinion our Sheriff has presented is that crime is WRONG! He is right!!! Crime is WRONG!!!

It's a shame that these 2 criminals are still alive. Now the taxpayers who pay to feed them will be their next victims.

I guess all of the newspapers and news stations are ignoring the crimes being committed by white people. You know, every once in a while one slips through and gets reported. ROFL
