A police chase that started in Senoia ended in Fayetteville Saturday evening, police said.

The pursuit began in Senoia when the car refused to stop after an officer attempted a traffic stop, said Fayette County Sheriff’s Lt. Belinda McCastle. Sheriff’s deputies joined the pursuit after it entered Fayette, and Fayetteville police successfully used stop sticks to disable the vehicle’s tires, police said.

The vehicle came to a stop on Jimmie Mayfield Boulevard at the entrance to the Woodgate subdivision, and the driver fought with police, who used direct electrical shock from a stun gun in an attempt to subdue him, said Capt. Steve Crawshaw of the Fayetteville Police Department.

The shock didn’t do much to deter the suspect but officers were eventually able to get him under control to put him in handcuffs, Crawshaw said.

The driver was identified as Richard Alan Stockton, 26. He will face several criminal charges stemming from the pursuit in the unincorporated county, but he was turned over to Senoia officers at the scene, Crawshaw said.

Its a good thing the Fayette County got to this guy first. Running stop signs will get you shot in Senoia. This guy probably wasn't trying to escape. He was just trying to get the hell out of Senoia.
