Hey cyclist (or any other cycling enthusiast)

You seem a likely source for what I'm looking for. Do you know any organization that reconditions bikes for kids. I have a 24" girls 10 speed, and two John Deere 26" 3 speeds, one mans and one womans that I would prefer not to junk. I imagine all need tubes, tires and a general tune up. They've been hanging in the garage for a long time. Be glad to give them to anyone who can use them. Have added a contact e-mail to my profile to remove conversations from here.

Cycleworks in Roswell used to do that. Contact Cathy Bailey at CycleWorks 770.476.4949. Many years ago there was a retired Delta pilot that lived in PTC and collect old bikes and did that sort of thing. Also, call Bicycles Unlimited in PTC 770.486.9252 they might be able to help.

Thanks!!!

Wow, here I am replying to my own post! That aside, using your tips, I found an organization that repairs bikes for kids. Roswell does take bikes but the logistics of getting them there presented a bit of a problem. However, Bicycles Unlimited is also a collection point for Christian City that does repair and distribution. I called Christian City at 770-969-9957 and in addition to pick ups at the bike shop said they will come by the house. Don't know if that's routine, but it sure saved me the problem of getting 3 bikes to the shop in a car.

Threads like this sure beat the heck out of those political one's. Smiling

Now that's a nice gesture from a Squid!

OK, maybe I'm too old for this one but when did the "squid" reference come into use? I've gotten swab, gob, and many unprintable here but never seen squid anywhere but on this blog.

TC, it's neither new nor derrogatory. Go up to the top left of the Citizen home page, use the 'search' feature, type in Squid and see where, at one time, Hutch even called himself a Squid!

Absolutely no offense taken. I was just curious where it came from. Since Hutch is just a pup it must be after my time.

TC, I'm an old Army guy and we always used that term. What's old? Active duty 59-80.
